    I love that Tim Kimbrough said "playing football is the only time I get to take my anger out". I love this kid, come on Vrabel get this kid his offer. He's a Buckeye fan through and through, I want this kid in Scarlet and Grey.

I do not believe a college coach should criticize or degrade a player publicly to the media..If you want criticize a player behind closed doors that is one thing, but don’t criticize players publicly..What happens in the locker room should stay in locker room..

    We saw what good the lack of transparency did for the previous staff. As long Meyer is straight with players about what he expects, I don't see a problem with it.

  • Gessig, not sure I agree. This is a high-profile business. Players need to get better, they need to get better at their studies. No secret. Besides, he didn't degrade anyone; he called them to come up higher. They need to do the school part and do it well. (If you look back, he never talked about a player who was and is still screwing up. He only talked about players who have improved.)

    I found it refreshing.

    Pretty sure Meyer knows a helluva lot more than you about interacting with these kids and what's appropriate. Boo hoo, a kid is criticized, slightly, in public. Don't get your panties in a bunch.

    I personally enjoy the song snippets and the short sound bites, that's what distinguishes FRR from any other Podcast! Not to mention it helps me broaden my musical horizon, they play some really classic songs that younger generations or certain Sub cultures in America may have overlooked, and I appreciate it!! Keep it up Dave and the Gang!!

  • well Dave..... just seems to me like Kimbrough is rather.... well to put it bluntly... dumb as a stump, not the brightest crayon in the box, ect ect ect!! I am so tired of hearing 17 and 18 year old young men grunt for answers. TP did this too.... and he came up with the brilliant idea that "everyone kills someone sometime! I'm guessing that his ACT is a 10 or so and OSU is waiting to see if he can get it to a what... 14! Now i understand the tragedy of many of our athletes socio-economic struggles. But why hasn't someone stepped up at this point to provide him with some mentoring. I guess I'd rather have an intelligent three star player than a young man filled with entitlement that could pull a program down again.

    It's a motivational tool. I like it. He's not calling these guys idiots and then moving on. He'll say something like "I wasn't a big fan of this guy at first and here's why..." Then he'll follow it up with "But he's come a long way and has really impressed me lately."

    If you read (or watch) the interview with Meyer from Tuesday, at no point did he blast one of his players and then move on without first saying something positive about him. His candor isn't just refreshing. It's extremely refreshing.

    You are being very hard on a very nice young man who will likely end up being a Buckeye if you ask me. Keep in mind these are 17-year-old (or even 16-year-old) kids who are juniors in high school and are likely doing radio interviews for the first time. Public speaking is the No. 1 fear of Americans according to numerous surveys. No. 2? Death. Need I say more?

    So, give the kid a break. He was nice enough to come on the show and share his thoughts. He's a Buckeye fan who is hoping to get an offer. And he's ranked as the 69th-best overall player in the country (No. 4 ILB) by 247Sports. I sure as hell would have been nervous at 16/17 doing a radio interview that's heard by thousands of people. (OK, maybe just B-Digs and a couple others. Ha.)
