Regarding the hockey coach, I know there has always been tension (even back to Markell) when they could not host CCHA playoff games in the Schott because of state high school basketball that weekend.
That's a tough one. Short of renting out Nationwide (which could be booked with CBJ or a concert or something anyway) there isn't much they can do to solve that. They play in the old ice rink, which is a total dump and a disgrace. They would be ahead to tear that down and erect a nice 4,000-seat arena for the women's team and for selected men's games that get bumped from Schott. It would also be a practice facility for the teams.
Maybe keep the existing rink for rec players and build a hockey annex to the Schott. It's ridiculous those teams have to go over the river to the rink to practice when the bkb configuration is down at the Schott.
It ain't like that at Michigan or Michigan State, I guarantee you.

OSU has clearly not made hockey a priority as it should be. The old rink is laughable and, I hate to say it, embarrassing.
With their resources and talent in the midwest, OSU should be a top 10 hockey team every year.
However, we dont allocate adequate financial resources to the team and it is clearly not a priority.

The OSU master plan does show plans for a hockey specific venue right around where the Jack N. building now sits. The museum will be moved to the clubhouse of the Scarlet course.
