Unfortunately, Luke Fickell may be the main casualty of this latest round of OSU NCAA problems and PSU Legal Problems. Ironically, Gene Smith's failure to monitor may necessitate expediting Meyer's arrival as OSU Coach in order to save recruits already committed and secure others on the verge of committing. Likewise, PSU's problems and reputation hits may necessitate making an earlier than expected run at Meyer. The real irony is that Meyer's Gators included 20-40 players charged with legal violations while he was the coach. And the really sad result will be that we have a great coach in Fickell who may lose his job because of the failures of others. Fickell has steered OSU through the worst period in OSU Football History to the point where even ESPN is commenting that this team is vastly improved. And that is in just 9 games and 5 months. What a shame! Gene Smith needs to resign!
And, one last point. Why is it that unnamed big wigs will have a strong say in who is the next HC at OSU? Wasn't DiGeronimo a big wig? Isn't he the reason we are in this latest mess?

Why do we say that UM would not go near the Penn State job and assume he will come here with a "failure to monitor" hanging over our head? He may not go to either school. Also it is my understanding that the self imposed loss of scholarships came after we met with NCAA officials. If true this may have come out of that meeting. Has anyone else heard this? Also is anyone else getting the feeling that this is turning into a RichRod situation? Maybe we need to offer LF now before we wind up with a hand full of crap.
Just curious.... but could we do the schollie thing in reverse?
I can think of 4 or 5 that haven't earned them. Could we take those away?... would that suffice ?

You can't handle the truth
"...you have to be smart in order to pick up (Ohio State’s) offense as a true freshman.”
The person who is delusional is Herbie. Just because he said it doesn't mean it will happen.
I've always known them as back-yard barbeques. Because that's where the real deals get struck.
