Gator Bowl Covets OSU-Florida Game

  • I will be happy if the Buckeyes play in any Bowl, as long as there is no NCAA Bowl Ban for any year. If the NCAA does impose a one year Bowl Ban, I hope that OSU can serve the penalty/ban this year so Meyer et al can start with a clean slate and recruit accordingly. If OSU plays in a Bowl this year, I do not care whether the opponent is Florida or another School. This Team has the ability to beat anyone if they are allowed to play aggressively on both sides of the Ball. I have no doubt that the current staff will let them play that way in this game.

  • would love a game against Florida. We would have time to get healthy on defense and grow some more on offense. People don't realize how young this team is and how they haven't reached their potential. OSU could possibly rick roll Florida and catapulting them to a favorable preseason ranking next season.

    think about it: A, Penn State beat OSU head to head and the record was 3 games better. 2, OSU has been to Tempe/PHX 5 times in 10 years. Penn State hasn't been there since 1997. Do you really think anybody would travel from Cols. to AZ to watch them play Baylor? Seriously. People can drive to JAX if they want. It's 14 hrs if you hump it. The current generation of Buckeye fans (anybody under 50) probably didn't go down there in 1978.

    My guess is they work together and the Insight takes PSU and the Gator takes OSU.

    In fact, as I was walking out of the interview room at Lucas Oil Stadium earlier tonight, a PSU official I know said, "Hey, Steve, have fun in Jacksonville." That's the honest to goodness truth. Good enough for me!

    There are lots of Buckeye Grads like me in Florida and most of us dislike UF immensely! This year, the Gator Bowl would be a great opportunity for our very young Team.

  • Screw florida! I hope Braxton goes down to their state and gives them an idea of what's to come in the near future! Florida is not a good team.. a good matchup for us! Ohio State will go down there and beat florida with a young team and open peoples eyes! The best thing about this game is we're only going to get better afterwards! It'll be a good experience for our young guys to see what they need to do to beat the SEC teams

    I absolutely agree with this! Ohio State goes to Florida and proudly flies the Buckeye flag for a week. If the team plays as well as they did against Michigan then we get a lot of positive press, win or lose. While Bollman is not this year's offensive coach of the year I thought he had a game plan for Michigan that could have won the game. If not for a few blown long passes, should have won the game.

    For those of you that think we should play the loser of the MAC championship game. GROW A PAIR!
