Steve, I was under the impression the Buckeyes could not compete for a Big Ten Championship this year. I just read the following "The Buckeyes, still eligible to win a Big Ten division title even though on NCAA probation and banned from the postseason, are tied with Penn State atop the Leaders Division standings.
Does this mean we could compete in Indy?

The holdup is clearly on Gibson's end. I'm all for taking chances on players that are close, but Gibson had (or still has) a lot of work to do. His interest in TOSU is pretty clear.
I think he should be nervous with Tony Stevens, James Quick, Stringfellow, and Corn Elder out there.

This doesn't make any sense. Two of the best academic schools in the country offered him and OSU is waiting on grades or a test score??

Could easily be a "conditional" offer. If he gets the grades/score he has an offer.

Out-of-state schools can offer, and then if someone doesn't qualify it is no big deal to not take someone and "pull" the offer. OSU can't do that with in-state kids and not feel the brunt of it. Gibson knows he has to take care of everything before he can commit to Ohio State. If he does not have a high enough test score he won't end up at Duke or Vandy just like he won't end up at OSU.

I was wondering the same concerning Duke and Vandy. The fact that he lists those schools to me shows he has a bit of a chip on his shoulder concerning his academic status. That "chip" can be a good thing if it motivates. Or it could be bad if he thinks he has those "offers" so he's fine.

If Gibson doesn't get the qualifying score he can't go anywhere and be eligible. But he can go to Fork Union Academy like Cardale "Twitter" Jones did and be able to enroll in January. 2014.
