Give me Craft over Burke any day ! You?

  • I'm tired of ppl saying we should have got him, I'm happy with Craft and Scott !

    Burke shoots too much in my book and his shooting pct vrs craft in big ten play prob not that far off. Burke had some lofty stats in ooc gms. But last year Craft avg more steals, rebounds, assist , less turn overs while shooting higher from the field and from 3.ill be willing to bet Craft will get better as the year goes along and Burke's #s will continue to drop!

  • Craft is a helluva player but it's not even that close imo... I would have taken Burke over him. I think Burke can do more to influence a game. The only thing Burke doesn't do better than Craft is defend, and he is not a bad defender by any means. But either way, Craft is our guy and I'm glad to have him.

    But

    Craft was gonna be hear regardless because he was a year older. I wish we would have taken Burke over Shannon Scott but hindsight is 20/20 and at that time Scott was a McDonald's AA and Burke was going to Ped state.

    Exactly. It's not Craft vs. Burke it was Burke vs. Scott and Burke has proven to be far and away the better player. Hindsight is 20/20.

    Burke....not only does he average 17 pts a game, his assist to turnover margin is second in the country. I would feel absolutely confident in saying that we would be a one or two loss team with him at point. He isn't though and I still love a lot of the stuff that Craft and Scott bring to this team. I don't think there is a real good argument for craft and Scott over Burke.

  • I honestly believe if Burke was sign by Ohio St we would have reach the final last year. And would definitely win it this year.

  • Scott should have redshirted or not picked oh st. Scott will prove he is a stud but hasn't had the chance he cant get the minutes. Taking good pg in back to back recruiting classes is not a good idea if craft stays all 4 years than Scott gets only one yr as a starting PG.

    Craft is a winner and a much better deffender he does all tge lil things that dont always show up in the stats first off he is a winner and is 3-2 vrs Burke.

    He leads by example by being the hardest worker on the floor nobody out hustles him he takes charges, dives for loose balls etc..
    He is hitting a shooting slumP this year but he will pick it up !

    he had better stats last yr and really if we had Burke instead of Scott then Burke would have never devolped on the bench and if scott was at Michigan he would be doing great. Burke took his lumps last yr and improved a lot this season credit him. But he has been given playing time that Scott has not got.

    I want a pg who is a pg. Burke scores more but has gms like today where he builds brick houses.He was 8-21 today and 9-24 vrs Indiana ,7-19 vrs Illinois , 5-16 vrs Pitt , 5-13 vrs Bradley ,And 4-13 vrs us the first gm.

    Craft was really bad vrs Duke 3-15 it was one of the reasons we lost the gm. Pg should not be shooting that much in my opinion.

  • Give me craft. Fit the role we needed the last two years and we get him for 4, not two. Burke's better this year, but not last year and he's gone next year.

  • I just don't buy that. If Burke was shoot firdt he wouldn't have such superior fg% and 3 pt% as well as way better assist and assist/turnover numbers.

    Anyone who would take Craft over Burke citing intangibles is not watching this team. A lot of different players do the little things well. What the other guys don't consistently do is score. Add Burke to Thomas and this offense could be dynamic. They are probably favored to make another Final Four run.

    This is not to disparage Craft, who is a very good specialist, but offense is easily the ingredient that is missing from this team. Now if Ross or anyone else turned into a reliable secondary scorer, Craft may become the better option.

    Craft had better numbers across the board in every aspect shooting pct from field & 3 and every single stat except points per game last year. This year is not over and compare big ten stats and I bet it's much closer . Burke is having a great yr but he shoots way too much he will have his shooting % continue to drop!

    The problem is that what do you lose if you don't have Craft's defense? Burke's a decent defender no doubt but Craft is without question the best defensive guard in the nation and arguably the best defensive player overall. How many points do you give up? Talk all you want about offense but Craft's defense would of won us the game if the refs did their jobs correctly.

    Not only that but lost in this discussion is that Craft has been averaging double figures since, what, the Purdue game?

    I think smith,Ross, Thompson and williams are all getting better and will score enough where craft doesn't need to shoot unless he is wide open outside or taking it to the rack.
