I'm telling you guys, this is the drill to do if you're having problems with contact/takeaway

    http://www.golfdigest.com/golf-instruction/2012-01/keegan-bradley-six-keys-to-solid-shots

I do this for 10 minutes a day. Need to have upper body and lower body working together.

At what point in the swing does the headcover need to fall? I was hitting shots without the headcover falling out...

I tried this drill yesterday with mixed results...irons contact was pretty solid...

    however...I completely lost my driver...

  • Once again, do the drill I posted above(about 3 times). It's the best drill for the full-swing IMO.

When should the headcover fall out?

  • After you're done with your swing. It's about keeping your upper body and your lower body connected on your backswing and downswing.

  • I recently bought a Tour Edge Exotics xcg-3 driver, fairway wood and hybrid and love them. Previously played a Callaway Hyper X driver, Mizuno F-50 fairway wood and Cleveland Halo hybrid. The feel, distance and forgiveness of the new sticks easily exceeds the old. I usually buy new stuff a year or so after they come out to get a significantly lower price and I am more than happy with my recent purchases.

I have been playing TM R7 irons for several years and have thought about upgrading but can't find anything I like better. I haven't hit any other irons as look and feel are the main reason I choose a club and I haven't found anything that appeals to me more. Iron play is my strength and I really like my current set. I do have a couple of Cleveland wedges I need to replace but haven't looked around too seriously. I like Cleveland wedges and will likely stick with them; I might need to do some shopping soon.

I got a new Odyssey White Hot XG putter last year to replace an original White Hot I used for a long time; putters usually stay in my bag for a while and I really like the firmer feel of the new XG.

I play a lot of different balls with feel and distance the main criteria. I have been playing the Callaway HX Diablo Tour and think it is a great, mid priced ball. I have no problem spinning irons so a tour level ball doesn't do me much good and prefer a lower spinning ball of the tee. I am going to try the new Nike Vapor Black, Taylor Made Rocketballz and Titleist NXT Tour when the weather improves. If I don't like any of those better I will stick with the Callaway but I often try new balls and then try to play the same one all the time until I find something I like better. I generally prefer a 3 piece ball for some spin and forgiveness.

I usually shoot in the mid 80's but do not turn in enough scores for a handicap as I often skip around holes at the CC I belong to or just forget to turn them in. I have played my most consistent golf this year after joining a private club and playing a lot of golf to justify the cost. I broke 80 several times this summer and had my first hole in one just a few weeks ago. The weather has been so mild in Virginia that I have been playing more this winter than ever so I am hoping for my best summer ever!
