  • In track and field, Florida and LSU finished 1 and 2 in the final team standings for men.

    Lsu won the title for women's track and field

    Kentucky won Men's basketball

    Alabama and LSU played in the BCS title

    Thier owning college sports right.

  • LSU has less than HALF of the NCAA sports as OSU (LSU = 14, OSU = 35).

    By not having as many teams, especially in many of the Olympic sports, they are able to focus on a few high profile sports instead of spreading the revenue across many sports - most of which lose money.

    ***And before anyone thinks I'm saying OSU should eliminate half its sports teams, that's NOT what I'm saying at all and the Olympic sports are a big part of the OSU athletic tradition.

    Even if Ohio St did eliminate "some of those sports that nobody cares about", I doubt the monies saved would be spent for football, mens basketball, (or paying for players).

    Over the passed few years, I haven't seen that either of those teams have needed anything that they have not gotten for lack of funding.

    Well we can invest more time into Track and Field or soccer. How the hell does Akron have a better program then OSU? How does Illinois have a better team program? Because we want to keep sync swimming?

  • So the sec has proven that they can buy championships in bball and fball. Plus they do have the fastest players so I guess track would come easy.

    Im responding to your remarks about the SEC "owning college sports" These are just examples to back my argument.

    Im mean who really cares about track and field? You listed that as if it was some major sport yet when I list insignificant sports you say you don't care about them. ???
