There are not enough words to describe the appreciation I have for you and your brothers and sisters in arms. As well as all the branches in the military. But on this day the special attention goes to the Marines. I have a buddy who served and he always said the Marines don't take applications they only take COMMITMENTS!! As I did not serve, which is a regret in my life now that I am too old to, I always thought y'all got a raw deal always being called to go in first. My friend corrected me and said "it's not a raw deal. It's the fact that you want to get the job done right the first time!!". Thank you for your service to this Country and Happy 237!!!!

Nice picture Shaad, top of Camp Pendleton correct? Happy Birthday to my fellow Leathernecks today on our 237th Birthday Celebration. I also would like to thank all the past and present Marines serving this awesome Country of ours. My son who is also a Marine just recently returned from Afghanistan. So this time is really special for our family As one former Marine........ Thanks again and Semper Fidelis Marines!!

11 years in the corps for me. I got out in 2006 and miss it more every year. There is something about knowing that the man to your right and the man to your left shares your fidelity and zeal for this country and is willing to put it all on the line for you.
Marines don't fight wars for politicians. They don't fight to be honored on Veteran's Day or , heaven forbid, Memorial day. They don't fight for the COs/XOs and Sgt Majors. They do it for that Marine on their right or left. They do it out of a love of their brothers in arms that is forged in the sweat, sun and sand fleas in Parris Island, SC (I have no idea what is forged in San Diego, but I am sure it sucked). They do it to defend the legacy of the Corps they love, the same legacy that is entrusted to each Marine that passes through Quantico, Parris Island or San Diego on the day of their graduation.
Those who have never been there will never understand, and those that have and left will never find it again.
Semper Fi Marines! Semper Fi.
