This video is as impressive a defensive performance as I've seen recently. This kid plays in, arguably one of the toughest HS leagues in the country. The Greater Cincinnati Catholic League is top notch. La Salle plays the likes of Moeller, St.X., and Elder every year. His team had little trouble with DeSales(52-7) and also handled Watterson easily, both of which have excellent programs. He has certainly been battle tested. Barring injury, I think he will see playing time eventually at OSU.

Great article Bax! Watching that video, the way he works through traffic and fights to the ball carrier reminds me of a former Buckeye linebacker who had a jersey number one digit lower than Joe's. I love hearing stories about kids like this. It'll be an honor to wear a jersey with his number on it.

I cannot tell you how impressed I am with this young Man. Whatever happens during his Football Career, he will be a great success in the more important game, Life. I will watch him very closely for the next four or five years and I hope that he plays alot. At crunch time, this is the kind of young Man you want on your side of the field.

Here goes: Love seeing guys like this that will "walk-on" to a School & Program they Love & Want to play for!
Guys that have the Heart, Determination & Moxie to prove that they belong on the Team!
With him coming from Cincinnati LaSalle's Program; with its Div. & Schedule; counts as much or maybe more than * rankings.
Love seeing the "Underdog" Prove himself; makes them "want it" more!
Remembering that Hawk was only rated a 3*. A coach like Meyer will see that Potential & Develop it!
Just watched the film "timber" Posted from Scouting Ohio.com again; I don't think I need to see any more film!
I want to see him at the spring Game &/ or Fri. Night Lights! Seeing the film on Ezekiel shows He's more than a 3* that he's rated; A lot of scouts and services that rank these "kids"; don't see the intangibles like "Grit"!
Baximus; Loved hearing about his GPA; & Honor Society too. Not only is he a great Football Player; but has the Smarts to remember the plays; & think ahead; Anticipate & React are two things a Smart Student Athlete brings to the table! Welcome Joe Burger

I predict Burger will have a scholarship within two years. Kid will be a special teams headhunter, and it wouldnt shock me to see him turn into the next great OSU LBer. He has everything you want. Hes a very smart kid and will pick up the defense very quick.

Although already on scholarship, that's how AJ Hawk got started.
