Help planning a Cbus Bachelor Party

  • I'm trying to plan my brothers bachelor party in Cbus. I'm thinking of 2-3 hours at the casino in the late afternoon. Does anybody A.) Recommend the new casino and B.) know of a hotel in downtown with a shuttle service to and from?

Any other suggestions are certainly welcome as well. I've never been to a Bachelor Party in Cbus before so I am having some trouble coming up with good stuff to do. I'm thinking of having everyone meet at the Tilted Kilt for lunch to get things kicked off. Anybody have an opinion on that place?

  • Hilton downtown arena district has a shuttle.

  • I went to the casino after the Illinois game. The area is not very good imo so hotel selection is going to be bad. I know there's a Red Roof Inn close but I've never stayed there. I don't think there are any shuttles. I took a cab from the Blackwell and it was about $25.

Personally, I wasn't a fan of the Hollywood. It's not horrible though. The poker room is big and they have plenty of tables. One thing that upset me was they don't have a designated cage in the poker room. In fact, I think there's only one cage in the whole place. That's ridiculous for a place that size.

Not that it helps now, but they are putting a cage in the poker room. Why they didn't do it from the beginning I'll never know, but it'll be open early next year.

There's a shuttle from the downtown Hilton, so don't stay in the area of the casino. The casino itself is huge and really nice, however, the food and drink prices are stupid. Take 2 is a carry out grill type place. It's $8.00 for either hot dog, hamburger, or chicken sand. Doesn't include fries or a drink. The buffet is about $20. There's a club/casual dining restaurant called O.H. thats really nice, huge TV's but the food prices are stupid. The alcohol is $4 or $5 per drink.

  • Thanks for the info...doesn't sound like I should make it a priority to go there...sounds like it kind of sucks! Definitely staying downtown though.

    I wouldn't say it sucks.

If you like to gamble, definitely go. If you'd be going just to drink and check it out, I'd say pass.

I'm not sure how the other dozen or so guys feel but I'm not into gambling. I'd vote pass. You ever been to the Tilted Kilt?

  • As far as Casino's go, it sucks. Had a dealer on Let it Ride that told us she had never dealt the game before. Spent every third hand correcting their always short payout. It was ridiculous. Oh, and the employees told us that they get nicotine tested, which just pisses me off when companies take away employee's freedoms just because they can.

Dealer's suck at most new casinos. Especially when the new casino the first one in that location. It was the same in Cleveland. They get better but you're right, it's painful early on.

I've been to the TK in Canton and Cleveland.

The experience at a TK is completely dependent on the staff.

EDIT: Meant to say Clevleand not Cbus.

  • No strip club? Kahoots on bethel is a good one. If you are going to look at tits then a strip club is the way to go.

    Gangtackle

  • If you guys are into golf there is a place called Tee'd up indoor golf. Can't remember how many simulators they have, but its a good time. We started a bachelor party their about a year ago. Had 3 booths and were able to play a scramble on pebble beach. They have drinks, ok food and tvs.
Cool place for dinner is Hubbard Grille. They have a table that has it's own beer taps on it. Not sure how many guys you will have, but we fit about a dozen at that table.

if you guys plan on spending 2-3 hrs in a casino you may as well take that gambling money and use it on strippers. Tilted kilt in Long Beach on PCH is pretty damn good the chicks are stunning. Not sure about the one in Cbus, but it is a pretty good place to kickoff.

Thing to consider is that the minimum bet at blackjack roulette and crap is $20. And nobody at the bj tables understands basic strategy of the game. Also, beverage prices are a littke steep and one guy cant go to the bar and grab a few drinks. It is one drink per customer per time. I wasnt a fan.

Tilted kilt is average. I assume you r talking about the one at Polaris right? Not sure of other locations.

  • I would stay downtown and bar hop. If you want a strip club, cab it down to the corner of Bethel and sawmill. Two good locations.

I think one is Byob and stays open after the bars close. Forget the name. Those places were for my younger years.
