    Lima Ohio.

Applebees across the street from a Best Western that has a whirlpool. Heck 50% of the time it doesn't work out so go easy.

    I live in Lima!

  • Monterey California. Stay at the Portola Plaza Hotel. Don't miss Point Lobos State Park south of Carmel. Lot's of trails to walk and breath taking views of the Pacific. Also 17 mile drive and the beaches south of Monterey are great. Wild life is abundant. There is a great restaurant in Carmel named Fresh Cream. No joke. It is great. If you fly into San Jose it is about a 70 mile drive down the coast to Monterey. Congrats, and good luck.

  • Congratulations.... while you are getting married, my wife and I will be celebrating our 5th anniversary.

My wife and I went to Glacier National Park in Montana for our Honeymoon which would seem to fit exactly what you are looking for. Lots of great hiking trails and scenery. Mountains, lakes, rivers, etc.

I have linked a listing for the cabin we rented (really nice, particularly the master suite). We were the second people to ever stay in this cabin, so scroll down to the review titled "Honeymoon" for my wife's comments that she wrote in their guestbook.

We spent every day visiting Glacier National Park and the nearby town of Whitefish is a ski resort with several great restaurants to check out in the evenings.

Note: It looks in the link that the cabin is not available, but if interested I would try and give them a call. I have it reserved to return August 4-10 and the link says it is available those days.

  • San Diego, CA particularly the Carlsbad area. Weather is typically in the 70's, a variety of things to do, and it is beautiful

If pops is paying this would be an awesome choice. Kauai has a ton of hiking and outdoor experiences, least touristy of the major islands (note socals gripe). The big island also has volcano national park which is quite an experience if the timing is right. The park is also in a rainforest so if you have never seen a rainforest another cool opportunity.

There is a ton to do there and minus Honolulu and a couple stretches in Maui I don't think it feels touristy at all

Kauai is the best place I've ever been and I spent 24 years in the Navy traveling around the world. It is the least touristy of the islands, has Waimea Canyon for hiking (Grand Canyon of the Pacific) as well as rain forests. Hawaiian beaches and weather can't be beat - 80 degrees, no humidity compared to Carib locations or Florida (been in Aruba in June and the humidity was like in Tampa), and tradewinds. Tons of movies like Jurassic Park filmed there due to exotic, South Sea island beauty. You won't regret it!
