I Buy Into Hyde As A NFL Ready Back

I am typically not one of those guys who thinks every Buckeye starter deserves a spot in the NFL. That said, after watching the 2012 highlight video and consuming a copious amount of NFL this year, I'm going to say that if he wants to go to the NFL, I do think he's ready.
The main thing behind my thinking is looking at this second wind of shotgun based running offenses.
Look at Alfred Morris in DC, the Niners changing their playbook with Kapernick, and the Panthers.
Other teams that are very heavy in the shotgun include the Chargers, Patriots,Broncos, Bills, Colts, Lions, and Packers.
With more teams running the read option or just looking to run more from that formation, Hyde's value as a specialist there including his physicality is a lot more attractive than it was not too long ago.
Although maybe not a round 1-3 guy, one of those teams could get a steal and double down on their ground game with aging backs or backs who are not producing in that system. Looking at the teams I mentioned, lot of room for a new guy to get carries.
Hyde really thrived this year when you go back and look at the footage and while i'd like to see him stay, I don't think the board's knee jerk reaction to him going early being a pipe dream is accurate to the value he has a good 1/3 of the league.

Look I'm not gonna dog you and you have a right to your opinion and who knows what he ends up doing. But consider this, he runs a 4.4 and weighs 230. He has been outta high school for 4 years. His draft status will not improve from this year and next year. His family is poor and needs money. The RB class is weak this year. I don't see a lot he needs to work on that will improve enough here that he couldn't learn in a pro camp. All that being said, I hope you are right and that I am wrong.

I'm buying in as well, that's why I'm trying to tell myself he won't go, he shouldn't go, he can't go..but deep down I believe he is gone.

No doubt Hyde is an NFL runningback & should go.
#1 - weak NFL runningback draft.
#2 - he has physical tools u can't teach.
#3 - with Hall returning , Rod coming on strong , Dunn & Ball returning from injuries , & Eazy E joining the roster his opportunities to showcase his talents will only decrease.

I think it makes total sense personally for him to go, but he has historically been a team guy.
Don't recall offhand but believe after he didn't make grades he worked pretty hard via a prep school to get up here when he easily could have landed elsewhere. Then redshirting and years being stuck in a logjam of backs.

I say go now, he can leave school and start training for the combine. Thats where the money is made. Its a plus that he plays on Special teams....
