Not that this makes my opinion any more credible or important, but part of my job here at OSU is technology assessment.

We have two iPads at my house: an iPad 2 (16 GB) that the woman bought and the new iPad (iPad '3') 32 Gigabyte that I bought. Both are WiFi only. I tether my iPad to my cell phone when I'm not in range of a WiFi signal.

I will repeat what others have said: "Go iPad and don't look back." If you don't plan on adding your music to it, go 16 GB model. If you do plan on adding your music library to it, go 32 GB model.

The sheer volume of apps and the quality are so much better, iOS devices (iPads and iPhones) are being supported by so many companies, major automobile manufacturers, etc.

Just to be fair, I have an Android phone (Thunderbolt), so I'm fluent with both Android and iOS.

I'll be getting a new iPhone if the next one has 4G. That was the only reason I don't own an iPhone yet.

As for Apple TV, etc....

I have an Apple TV as well. Not a television, but the little black Apple TV box (2nd Generation).

It's amazing. Jailbreak it, install XBMC on it (XBMC.org) and it is an awesome home theater system. Play any type of music file, any type of video file, browse the web, watch Hulu, Netflix, MLB.com, etc.

Caveat: The new 3rd generation Apple TV hasn't been jailbroken yet (to my knowledge), so I'd wait on the jailbreak for that before buying the new one. However, if you can find the 2nd generation, nab that sucker up.
