Im confused by the math on the recruiting board

Im looking at the recruit ranking on the Bucknuts site. I see that scUM has a higher 'avg' average recruit than we do. Im not sure how that possible when we have more total points and one fewer recruit. Im not a huge believer in splitting hairs when it comes to recruiting as its at the very best a projection but I was just curious how those ratings are calculated.
