The follow up to that comment is (and I am not going to call kids out) is that there were plenty of 4-5 star kids with tons offers due to early hype etc that were complete busts.

I am not going to disagree but we lost bell, price never set foot on campus, and Crowell I hope makes it back but he is question mark. We also lost human and rolle to graduation. I think I might be missing one more but in 12 months we have lost possibly 5-6 at one position that is a ton.

Now We are looking at kid who has walk on offer at Notre dame? No offense to kid but NDs defense isn't even close to ours. I bet the % of players that become impact players is much higher for 4 or 5 stars compared to 2 stars which is where this kid likely grades out at.

LBs also are very versatile being able to play on all special teams even if they are not starting.

I agree we have lost some guys and agree we need some studs to come in at lb. All i am trying to say is we have talent on the roster and there is plenty of talent out there. Plus in 2013 we have the inside track on Jaylon Smith 5 star ( at least i hope we do ) so lets not freak out about a 2 star this year, with all the crap that has happened to tOSU in the past year. I like monheim's film that I've seen. We in my estimation need 3 this year.

A bit surprised that with the quality options on the table for next year we are in such a rush to land a MLB in this class.

Luke Roberts only committ for true LB in class of 2012. Perry may not be Lb. With those numbers I think it is risky to "skip" a year if and and only If there is a quality kid you have seen on film and in camp who can fill a need.

what happened to crowell? it sucks about Bell, and also the kid with the bum shoulder (forget his name though). We need at least 3 LB's to come in this year, because we are losing a lot of LB's in the next 2 years, plus as we have learned a lot of the time a HS LB grows into a college DE.
