Is there a Ted Ginn III anywhere on the horizon?

  • Got watching youtube out of boredom late last night and happened to see a Ted Ginn Jr. highlight tribute video. May have been every TD he ever scored at tOSU. Of course, it was an amazing few minutes of video. Breathtaking, really, the things that young man could do on a football field, making opponents look silly while displaying his God-given natural abilities and enjoying every second of it.

Given Urban's unsuccessful efforts, thus far, to land a 'playmaker' with world-class 'football speed', can you imagine how scary an Urban Meyer offense would be with 'the next' Ted Ginn Jr.? There probably is no such player now -- they only come along once in a generation -- but it's sure fun to dream.

If only Ted Ginn Sr. and Mrs. Ginn had waited 7 or 8 years before having Teddy!

We all talk about various generic 'playmakers' or looking for 'the next Percy Harvin'. Bull Hockey! Give us the next Teddy Ginn Jr. and Percy Harvin will fade into obscurity.

Wishful thinking. I doubt Marshall will be as good.

Let's not forget about jalin Marshall my friend, the two guys seem pretty similar to me. Both were shoehorned in at a position (qb) in an offense that didn't fully exploit their gifts. Ginn was probably faster but Jalin has equal wiggle and runs with more power. Granted this is a lofty comparison but I don't know if a see a more "Ginn" like player in the nation

  • The biggest cheer of the recruiting season between now and national signing day will be heard when the Buckeyes get a verbal from one of the elite, fast wide receivers we are trying to land.

I saw that same highlight video. Teddy was awesome. Have to say some of my favorite Buckeye memories. Can you imagine if Urban was in control of that offense?

Jalin Marshall is going to do Big things. If he is anything close to Teddy we will be blessed.

As a returner no...as an offensive player he'll be better than TGII IMO!

Was it one of the videos I made? I made them years ago... I never considered at the time the impact YouTube would have. I just made the videos all willy nilly. Now I get notified that my video has been blocked in Germany because of potential copyrite infringement. Oh well... I'm thinking about taking them down as a result. Otherwise, how do I fix it? Do I have to contact Spiderbait and Andrew WK and ask for permission? I don't want to get in trouble.

  • Well we will see, but supposedly, the kid Jalin Marshall is that kind of player. One of those once every 10 - 15 yr kinda guys. Honestly, I think about what someone like Meyer could have done with Ginn and who knows, but I aint gonna crap, he was scary good with us the way we were.

Thats what so interesting about us in comparison the there rest of the conference, the difference has been our ability to recruit playmakers. Not even Meatchicken has been good at that. They have had Woodson and Anthony Carter, about it when it comes to Big Timers. Neither from Meatchicken, meaning the state of. Those kinds of players, are tough to get if you cant make them in your home state and we do in Ohio. Though we did get George from Fork Union. Hope dude gets his house back!
