Not since they were #19 back in 1973.
Love seeing Hazell do well, always thought he was one of Tressel's best assistant coaches.

The only problem is that Tennessee, Auburn, and others will be looking for a coach. And we all know how the SEC loves coaches from Ohio and with Ohio ties. And there's also the domino effect.
Good MAC coaches don't remain MAC coaches for long.

+1 I remember when he was coach we had wr u. Jenkins, Ginn,Gamble, Gonzo, and Holmes all as first round picks and Hartline, Robo, Hall was all drafted that was insane for like a 6 year span.Overall just a great time to be a Buckeye.

I will be shocked if Hazell isn't gone immediately after the end of the season. Too many big time programs that need a HC like you said and he's got to be on the top of everyone's list.
I maintain that 2011 would have been a totally different ballgame if Hazell had still been here, but it all worked out great for us with Meyer coming in so no complaints at all. It'll be a dream scenario if Hazell goes out and builds himself up to be ready to succeed Meyer down the road.

Minnesota needs to call him up and offer a brinks truck for him to go there.
