Meyer's year one plan is ahead of schedule, with an up tempo offense that can get 20 to 25 extra plays a game and wear defenses down. Oregon does it, but their defenses are weak and their OL talent not great. Texas A and M had Bama gassed most of the whole second half with that up tempo offense, Bama was spent. TAMU also had enough defense to slow down the Tide run game and McCarron is not a big time QB to lead 4th quarter come backs a lot. Once the mid third quarter point hit and all those extra quick offensive plays kicked in for Clemson, LSU was spent. Miles admitted it after the game, shame on a typical horrible Big Ten reffing crew for not flagging LSU once for faking injuries over and over trying to buy time and rest. Clemson also had enough defense to slow down the LSU run game, and get after Lerch Mettenberger with the pass rush. Meyer will have the QB's and offense that Clemson used and get those extra plays and wear defenses down, he also will have a top 10 defense with a SEC front seven style as well, sit back and enjoy.

Agreed, LSU has pulled that same bullshit against Oregon and West Virginia. You'll notice that those players come right back in after sitting out a play. Question: Could we all agree that this SEC dominance is about better players? There is no magic formula or coach. It's all about recruiting the best players. Les Miles is a skunkbear, grass eatin' tool. He was an average coach at Okie State.
Same with Saban...mediocre at Sparty.
The sheer amount, size, speed, of some of these SEC teams is mind boggling, A lot of teams would have wilted last night when LSU went ahead. Credit to Clemson for saying fuck you and making plays.
Meyer understands this and is going after the best players nationally.
I do believe however that CFB and pro football is changing to the up tempo spread offense. Great equalizer,

oldest trick in the book in wrestling. If you're gassed..grab a calf and yell cramp. Get a drink, get your wind and then go like hell.
I don't think you can classify what saban did at MSU as 'medicrity'. Look what he took over. He turned them around in short time and beat the #1 team on the road as a 28 pt. underdog...which has only been outdone twice? in the history of college football.
Saban is the kind of coach that will beat you with his players and take your players and win as well. I would put him and Meyer as the only two current coaches that you could say that about.

Good points on Saban but he really struggled at LSU and Bama until he got some players under his belt.
I do think he has a "system" in place that works fantastically with the idea for a player of being " NFL ready / high draft pick" as the carrot he dangles. Saban has earned his reputation in this area with recruits.
Oversigning a shit-ton doesn't hurt either. Although I am a fan of oversigning and wish the B1G would loosen it's rules.
Les Miles just plain eats crayons. That's all players.

great game - I love to see SEC teams lose in Bowl Games :)
I'm surprised LSU could lose with 'all that speed' of the SEC.... sigh overrated - terrible offense, they made Clemson's front line look fantastic.
Terrible set of offensive play calls with LSU's last possession, they should have run the ball 3 times, instead they throw 3 times.. Horrible
