LeBron James, Carson Palmer, and Rick Nash

  • All three wanted to help their respective teams win championships, but management failed to produce a championship team around them. Then after years of struggling (or in the Cavs case losing deep in the playoffs), LeBron bolts for South Beach, Carson demands a trade and even "retired," and then Nash, who had been the most loyal of all by signing an 8 year extension to stay, requests a trade because the losing had been enough. In the Jackets case, poor drafting, bad trades, and misuse of coaches led to this. It sucks but I have accepted that another All-Star will shortly be on his way out of Ohio near the NHL draft in June.

  • As the Heat found out, it is tough to win a championship when your best player has a meltdown in the middle of a playoff series. So I'd hold off on the "failure to build a championship team around" LeDouchebag talk. Who knows what would have happened if the pussy actually tried and/or didn't have a psychotic breakdown. Anyone who says differently is looking at it with the benefit of hindsight.

  • I agree for the most part, but the only other thing I would add about LeDouche is that the entire time he was in Cleveland he never made a full commitment and therefore the Cavs organization was always looking for quick fixes. Signing Larry Hughes, Trading for Shaq, Trading for Jamison, etc. It makes it that much harder to build a championship team when you are always worried that your best player is going to want out.

I wouldn't say everything that happened to Carson with the Bengals was managements fault either. Carson got wrecked in the playoff game and fact is he was never the same after. He never finished on his front foot and always looked like he was throwing off his back foot for years. He struggled to hit wide open receivers at times and overthrowing them like a tOSU senior QB this past season.

Ya Carson leaving was the best thing to happen to the Bengals in years. We have Andy Dalton right now and sold Carson off for a 1st round. We have actually drafted pretty well over the past couple of years so im excited to see what we can do with these two firsts.

  • Don't forget Albert Belle...I pray Votto isn't next. Oh well...Carson is proving his worth, LeBron is a male-Madonna...Yawn....and who is this Nash guy?....Kidding just sucks. Giving up rules you out of my hall-of-fames. I'll take Ernie Banks and Marino over those guys any day. IMO

LEBRON is gone get over it. People like you proves why ohio teams dont deserve titles. He played seven good years here for cleveland. He want to go, ok see ya , if you did not like him from day one thats fine but dont start name calling cause he left. Your worse than a female saying " his penis was small any way" after the breakup of 7 years. He gave 7 years to his home state. You tell me how many stars done that.
    Kobe none
    Jordan none
    Wade none
    Shaq none
    Bird none
An the list goes on an on.

  • It's hard to blame Nash. I read somewhere that he would not have asked to be traded if there were changes in the team management. Prior to being hired, Howson was an assistant GM for a bad team and he has done nothing but make bad deals and negotiate horrible contracts. Unfortunately, the only person who can make changes in management, the owner John McConnel, is also the only person who seems to think Howson is doing a good job. The fans staged a protest specifically to show their displeasure in management, and even that didn't do any good. Sure the team is making deals and trying to rebuild, as any last place team would, but how many such teams would have faith in the men that lead the team to the very bottom of the league to turn this thing around?

  • Didn't Lebron just mention a few days ago that he would like to play for Cleveland again if they would accept him back, possibly even as soon as 2014 when he again will be a free agent?

The grass isn't always greener on the other side.

  • Erm...Larry Bird coached the Pacers by choice, just as he went to Indiana State by choice. I wonder how many people Indiana State put around Larry Bird in his chance to play Michigan State that year.

LeBron uses the meida to his advantage and you got played as we all did. Bird gave way more to Indiana than Mr James ever did for us. Seems to me I remember the OHSAA letting him slide when he was taking jerseys and cars from boosters in high school.

And what does deserves have to do with sports? I guess Alabama deserves to win it all back-to-back. Seems to me Alabama wouldn't deserve it either after many many years of slavery and fighting the North over the right to keep slavery. Oh but Ohio is WAY worse for treating LeBron JUST the way he expected with his carrying on with an announcement: he wanted the world to howl over his decision; of course, he also thought all would be forgiven

Again what does deserves have to do with anything. Washington DC would never win anything ever by that idea.

  • Yes I would take him back and Miami isn't that great a place: My mom used to work for Piedmont and we flew down to Miami for free once...and besides the beach Cleveland seemed cooler to me. It was like the worst parts of Hollywood, Vegas, and Tijuana rolled into one/

  • Carson was never the same after his injury. Lebron's head and ego was too big for Cleveland.

LeBron isn't over it either/ Seems he is saying things about coming back to Cleveland. Seems he doesn't like going to Buckeye games and getting booed. He gave nothing to his home state at all dude. He got paid to bring home a ring. He has the money Cleveland has no ring, mostly because he gave up too. Shaq played at LSU: in home...Bird coached Pacers and played at ISU...

I do see your point...but the support you provided didn't help LeBrons case for anyone. Seems the calls from Saturday Night Live and other things are drying up: kind of the Tiger Woods career arc. I'll take Jack's or MJ's career arc, as well as BOTH of their abilities to give back. LeBron coulda been MJ...but will be remembered more like Dominique Wilkins or something. (which I hate to say because Wilkins was one of my favorites ever-but he is no Jordan)

To Nash's credit, he has been more than patient. At this point in his career, his window is closing. I don't want him to leave and I assume that in an ideal world, he would want to stay. That being said, he has to know that he is not getting younger and he might not have many chances to be a major contributor on a championship team if it doesn't happen soon. I hope the mass exodus this year leads to a competitive team next year.

    Is that you Maverick Carter?

Don't tell me how to feel about LeQuitness leaving. I can feel how I want.

FYI, I am not name calling because he left. I am name calling because of the "Decision" and the quitting in the playoffs. I am supposed to thank him for 7 years, no rings, and quitting in the playoffs against Boston?

P.S. Although I have no personal knowledge, I bet LeBron's dick is small.

  • As many guys as Cleveland brought in to help LeBron, they never once brought in a Chris Paul, Amarie Stoudamier, Shaq (in his prime), Kareem Abdul Jabbar, Pao Gasol, etc., etc. He saw they were trying to help, but they were doing it on the cheap. Had they gone after a another future hall-of-famer to compliment him they would probably have won the one final they lost and several others by now. I could see that with him and Kyrie Irving.. And so can he. He just needs someone to share the load with him. He's the best physical basketball player that ever lived, and possibly the best athlete that ever lived. Can you imagine how far he could drive a golf ball with the proper swing, or how fast he could run the hurdles with training, or in the decathlon, or as a wide receiver? As it is, everyone on both NBA teams seems to be running in slow motion when LeBron decides to turn on the jets. He just can't do it by himself - nobody can.

Nothing personal but I guarantee you a 6'9" Black man's penis is loner than yours is for sure, and I have never met you. Look at his hands and feet and you can tell that! What a stupid childish comment to make.

  • All valid points. All were different situations obviously and clearly this affects the attitude of the player and the actions of management.

It was said in jest in response to his post. Don't take everything so literal....wtf

Also, what if I told you I was a 7 foot black man with even bigger hands and feet than LePippen"I-scored-8-points-in-an-NBA-finals-game-but-never-got-any-help-in-Cleveland" James?
