All of us Buckeye NUTs who love the S & G live and die with each BB game .
We have favorite chairs we sit in as we watch, favorite trinkets we hold, or the way we sit and view the game...we love to win..and it hurts us when we lose..especially in a way that we feed disparages the university from our effort expended. We have dropped kicked the dog enough this season. We pretty much felt that feeling three times this season.....at Illinois, at home with Indiana, and the recent fiasico and embarassment at Madison.
There are five (5) games left in the regular season, and the question that has crossed the mind of all of us is "will we win 20 games" this year? Will we win a B10 Tournment game?
Will this group of guys futher embarass THEE Ohio State university on the court wiht a lackluster effort that does not resemble the proud history of this program.
Here is how I see the outcome of these last 5 games....I could be wrong, very wrong, but I guess I am an optomistic Buckeye and do not want to believe really negative things out of these guys and Matta as they "close out" the regular season:
I am calling a WIN tongiht aganist Minnesota (H)- I think thse kids were embarassed and shamed enough at their effort at Wisconsin, that they have "something to prove"....
I am calling for a WIN aganist MSU-(H) I think we can play right along with these guys and should have won the game at their place.....I think our D will come thru for a win...
I am calling for a loss at Indiana-(A) geeze that was hard..ha ha...no, I think we will play tougher, but Indiana knows how to finish and will win that one at their house...
I am calling for a WIN agansit Northwestern(A) at their plave...I think since we have played them here and seen that weird offense that Matta will have made the proper Defense changes to pull of a win over their...I see a very close game however.....
I am calling for a WIN at home here, agansit the Illini(H) as we close out the season...I think that the loss early in the season over there has been churning and festering in our guys gut and they want to take it out on the Orange and Blue in the Schott.....
So I am calling for a 22-9 season ending, finishing strong wiht a 4-1 mark. Am I nuts..probably..ready for the rest home...ha ha probably..but hey, I am a Buckeye and have to be positive......(I saw the first half of the UAB game this year..ha ha)
HOW DO YOU SEE US IN THESE FINAL 5 games?

I don't think a 4-1 finish is that far fetched. I can easily see us losing the Sparty game though. Frankly, because Sparty is PLAYING better then we are at the present moment. But we have another game tonight to hopefully begin to get this ship righted.
I would gladly take a 4-1 finish and 1 win in the B1G tourney. That would put us at 23-10 and most likely a 6-7 seed in the big dance. The dance is all about match-ups and who's hot. We have about 6-8 games to get hot and make a run. A Sweet 16 berth (allbeit optimistic at this point) would be a successful season IMO.
I'm hoping Minnesota, NW and Illinois are wins
it depends MSU's frame of mind after a tough loss
IU, not a chance.
MSU and Illinois are wild cards IMO.
Predicting 3-2, in all honesty 2-3 wouldn't shock me. Illinois is trending up...NW depends on if "WE" come to play...MSU, Izzo has always used his bigs well against us.

OSU is not going to beat MSU. They will get pounded down low.
3-2 is best case scenario for this team but I can easily see 2-3 with the way they have been playing.
There hasn't been any signs of life for over 2 weeks so let's hope we see some tonight.

Sorry, but I think we lose to Indiana, MSU, and one more. A 2-3 finish, early exits from both the Big 10 and NCAA tourneys, then on to football season!!
Realism tells me 3-2, but 2-3 or 4-1 are just as possible. I can't see how with our home track record we lose 2 of 3 or how we find a way to lose to northwestern, despite how close the last game was. We are probably locked into the 5 seed which will have us playing PSU on thursday. I would say worst case scenario is a 2-5 finish and that still gives us 20 wins and. Tourney birth. Most likely we go 3-2 to finish the regular season and 1-1 in the big ten tourney Just my guess.
Based on what we have seen with recent play 2-3 would be a gift.
"Ohhhh, man I wish I could go back in time. I'd take state."
During the first half of the Wisconsin game OSU had many decent and good looks, but just missed. As the game went on it obviously changed and they forced bad shots. It may be small, but it is still a little encouraging that they were able to get those looks, they just needs to finish.
To me that will play a huge role in how these 5 games play out. If they can get good looks and just shoot halfway decent, they can start out well and not force shots trying to play catch up. This team isn't built to make big come backs. If we see the same effort as these past 3 games, 2-3 is most likely. If they change their effort and get after it, 3-2 is more likely with a decent shot at 4-1.
Would be happy with a 2-3 finish. That would lock up a bid.
Normal OSU team logic would say we win our last 3 games at home ....it also would say we win one on the road aganit tne of the worst teams in the B10...thats 4 wins. I think it can be done if we play like we did when we won 4 straight a few weeks ago......Matta needs to light a fire under his troops........get them to "respect" the S & G color of whom they represent and who has gone before them....can he do it? ....I guess we will see!
