Micheal Bennet did play well but he was helped early on by an offensive tackle who chose to block down and let Bennet loose. Did it twice in a row. So gotta take some of it with a grain of salt.

Tell you who impressed me? Shazier. So fast. So fast. Such closing speed and here is the clincher......great tackler. Took on a back out in the flat where it looked like they were about to loose contain and stopped him. Coming in off the blitz the guy is a freaking blur. He hits hard too. You see in the pre game one on ones where he hit Sabino so hard it buckled his knees?

Gotta say it again. Love Shazier. Super star in the making. Get your jersey now because they won't be here near mid season when he blows up this year.

I liked Rod Smith. He is starting to look the part I expected out of him last year. His vision is improved. He is running to daylight instead of up the backs of his linemen and he is a load. Did you see on the goal line play where he scored the TD? Luke Roberts had him dead to rights and Smith ran right over him to paydirt. He just needs to catch the ball better.

Sorry but I'm calling it. Williams just doesn't have it. Between his inconsistancy in catching the ball (reminds me of T. Washington who would make a spectacular catch one play and drop one that hit him in the chest the next) and him jitterbugging back and forth on a bubble screen instead of getting upfield........I am personally not a believer in Ty Williams.

Watching this game made me think. I started to wonder about guys who played QB here in the past under the previous offensive football think tank. Justin Zwick. How much of his lack of success was due to an ineffective and transparent scheme (I honestly don't think there ever was any overall "plan" ever for the offense) where he was set up to fail because he didn't possess athletic ability to offset opposing defenses who knew the snapcount and the play that was coming? What about Boeckman? He had a sick year one season winning all conference honors and then went to Bench Warmer status because he didn't posess the 4.2 speed that was needed at QB to succeed in the current regimes "game plan".

Boeckman and Zwick were certainly not NFL prospects. I just wonder if they might have experienced a lot more success if they had a scheme to work within that didn't make the offense operate under a handicap. How many MAC defenses did our team make seem like all world all americans?

I am pretty vocal about how I feel about the read option and Meyers offense. I don't like it. No need to talk further about it. What I do like is success and an offense that while resembling something from a Friday night high school game, at least operates under a premise of an overarching idea and makes sense.

Its rather refreshing to see an OSU offense in the spring that doesn't resemble old people fu$%^ng. Slow, disjointed, and confused. I think its going to be a hell of a season this year. I also think the year after this, we are going to go to the title game and win a national title by beating the living shit out of the SEC champ.

Sorry, but I'm still not sold on Philly Brown..his (lack of) hands will cost us a game if he indeed is the number 1 or 2 man..even when he makes a catch, there isnt a damn thing that is fluid about it..the ball just maoves too much when his hands touch it..and as evidenced yesterday, he lacks concentration when he touches it even on a hand off or pitch..

I like that Carter has improved and looks stronger and even at times played well..but I'm telling you, he got moved in the running game..take another look at Hyde's TD..he got blown up..when he learns leverage on every play he might be a real force..but it will take time..

I think they are gonna have to find a place for Decker..he's in the top 5 right freakin now..I like Mewhort and Fragel is better than OK and will only get better..but Decker must play somewhere..he's a damn stud..

Would we be better with Decker at LT..Norwell at LG..Linsley at C..Mewhort at RG..and Fragel at RT??????..just throwin that out there for food for thought..

I still like Rod Smith..I just do..we have a stable of RB's..but no one is seperating themselves..and Dunn might be the best of all of them..

I too remain skeptical of Sabino..I dont know..his reactions are slow..something I dont see out of Crowell or Roberts..both of those guys did their job yesterday..they're just more instinctive than Sabino..and their pursuit angles are much better IMO..

All I do know is that we have a shitload of true freshman that will bite as pups..LOVE THIS GROUP

Miller looked sooooo much different than last year already..and Guiton is more than reliable..

I kinda feel sorry for Boren..is there anything we can do with him when we aren't in the I formation??

Vanett was impressive too..and call me silly but some walk-ons did well too
