Talking about guys that didnt match their hype is great and all, but a top 10 prospect more often than not is a top 10 player. This article is all about getting turned down by the homecoming queen and then saying that you didnt want to go out with her in the first place and she is ugly. None of this changes the state of OSU recruiting in that there is no state. We are battling the mediocre Big 10 teams and MAC teams for the kids this year. This is going to be a horrible year if Meyer/Gruden does not become coach.

Mike Burden should be on that list as well. S out of Palentine IL was said to be all world and in reality was all nothing. Not the brightest bulb in the class.

Daune I remember a lb in the same class as Alonso Spellman that was rank the best lb West of the Miss. who came here transfer back to a west coast school never lived up to hype. The first such player I remember is Cory Pargo huge hype backed up a walk on.

Jones is the best high school DT I have ever seen in this state. Hight would be next. Jones never graduated high school. Hight finally got the grades to get into Akron but never made it through one year. I will never forget the clip of him catching a pass at tight end and outrunning the entire defense at about 290 lbs.

I don't have numbers. I know 2 different people who came back with game reports. Both said he is the same old Wormley. Looks the part but does not stand out once the ball is snapped.

I thought about Zwick but he did start some games and was only supplanted by a Heisman Trophy winning player. Fellows is not going to have an impact here because of injury. I did not include players whose careers were impacted by injury.

Joe Apke Cincinnati Moeller was a can't miss 6'5 205lb offensive center in the early 80's..At the time many considered Apke the best center ever recruited by OSU. Never started a game.
