Why in the world would the Big Ten, which is already struggling on a national level in its historic flagship sport of football, take on two programs known for decades of struggles??
Is the Media coverage of New York and DC the number one reason?
New York is not a college football city.

Not thrilled at all. So we are basically picking up a couple more purdues or Iowas. I like the traditional match-ups even if Indiana and Minnesota etc or bad right now. Maryland and rutgers are barely a step ahead of these as far as football is concerned and probably not up to par on the hardwood. There will be plenty of years where we miss out on playing Wisconsin or Nebraska so that we can travel to Maryland to play a 3-6 terrapin team. How is that a good thing? Now if we missed out on a few Iowas or Minnesotas to play let's say Oklahoma or ND then that is a different story. Who is next North Texas Mean Green, Arkansas little rock? Doesn't surprise me though, I figured the big ten has been dying to add somebody....anybody. Like the desperate teenager looking for a prom date the day before.

Under Armour is not Nike and not Maryland...sorry, but that is a reach and Maryland is awful. Think Illinois...think Indiana before Wilson got there...this is an awful move. You must be a Maryland alumni.
