Meyer Meets With California OL

Urban Meyer was recently on the West Coast and met with a Cal offensive line commitment for over an hour, and the meeting may result in an official visit.

What is intersting to me is the difference in how Tressel and his staff recruited this time of the year vs. UFM and his staff. UFM seems to not think twice about going out across the country to recruit needs, even late in the recruiting cycle. Tressel always seemd to fallback on Ohio-only guys late in the game and that is when guys that should have never gotten a scholarship to the OSU sometimes ended up on the roster..just an observation.

This would be a huge get. I know they haven't offered yet but he has good size. He may not have been the top choice but we will take a talented OL

what about Meadows who is 6'6" 280 and had a pretty good camp and is from Ohio? The Sooners want him but we dont?

BOTH Dan Skipper and Cameron Hunt have identical 3-star (87) ratings on 247sports. I'm wondering if Urban is stretching on these recruits or whether they're really 3-star diamonds in the rough that are flying under the radar. It would be interesting to hear Duane's evaluation of these recruits.

+1 I agree.. and Bill,thanks for the bolt of confidence anyway on Lisle and especially Gardner. I just like a stream of great linemen and Michigan seems to have a nice haul. Let's keep pace. I do feel better though knowing we got O'Connor, Dodson, Decker and Boren last year and are only losing Fragel.

Cancel the Michigan visit kid and come to Columbus instead that weekend. Why would any 2013 OL prospect even be considering Michigan at this point?

I think this time of year Tressel and his staff were involved with bowl practice. I can't think of a year that the Buckeyes didn't go to a bowl game when he was the coach. But I do agree this staff is much more aggressive nationally and aggressive with players that have committed elsewhere.
