    Maybe so...but old JT always had his teams improving and ready to win in November for the stretch run...anxious to see if Meyer can keep that trend going.

    Right, because if JT had one fault, it was not 'getting it'.

    And JT would have likely covered the spread... the 18 point spread.

    If this was Tressel giving a speech, he wouldn't be talking about how to fix the defense. It'd already be working. Now there's a coach who got it. I'm confident that Meyer will get things fixed, hopefully in time for the upcoming big games.

    ^^^ This... Fellas, we are dealing with a lack of "FOOTBALL" talent up the middle of the defense. It is not coaching, it is not scheming. It is a lack of football talent. Plain and simple. You guys can belly ache about the coaching and scheming if you want to, but this defensive staff is doing the best they can with the current personnel.

    I don't understand why there are so many people on this board that don't get it.

    Listen to Fickell's presser... he is frustrated. He wishes he could put Curtis Grant in there... curtis grant is clearly a better athlete than Klein, but apparently he is not a better football player. Injuries, you heard meyer say it, are a great excuse. Then he said he doesn't use excuses... he used an excuse. You had 5 linebackers out on a tuesday practice (i think he said Sabino, Cameron Williams, Josh Perry, Shazier and Crowell)?!?! Tough to get a team ready to play when they can't practice.

    Everyone here needs to take a step back, take a deep breath and be realistic about what this defense can accomplish in 2012. Just lower your expectations. We are going to need to score 50+ points in each of the next 5 games in order to go undefeated. That's just what it is. Does absolutely no good to crap on the defensive coaches every Sunday for what is transpiring on the field.

  • Stoneburner is doing his job on most plays, which is to block for Philly Brown, Carlos Hyde or Braxton Miller.

    For whatever reason (Braxton can't make it to his 2nd progression and Stoneburner doesn't get good separation even when covered by a LB) Stoney isn't getting many balls thrown his way, but on most plays he's supposed to be blocking and he's doing it just as well as he did as a TE.
