Bill, with the increased interest in OSU from some out of state big name recruits, what are the chances that some of our verbals get their offer taken back?
Linebackers are tough to predict. I remember when we had Ott. He had all of the tools and he was a huge recruit, but it never quite worked out for him.... Matt Wilhelm ended up becoming the stud linebacker we were looking for at the time and he was nowhere near as heralded coming out of hs. Clearly, AJ Hawk was overlooked in many of the rankings (3 stars... are you kidding?).
So, you never know, maybe someone here is really that good, they just haven't seen the field yet (I'm not sure how after the way we looked at that position... but look how long it took them to put Shazier in and he has looked like a monster all year.)
Hopefully, we will get a great linebacker or two in this group, but I'm not sure there aren't some good ones there now, too. (**Schemes, etc. were also a problem.**Zero pass rush by our ends.**I love Moeller, but he did not have a very good year - to put it mildly.**Linebacker play was mostly poor, but I think there is potential there...those guys were all big recruits...remember how excited we were to get Grant last year...)
Things are definitely heating up. Spence looks like a beast.

I think if we're lucky we'll end up at 22, that gives us 6 spots. My dream team would be:
I would've put in Goldman (over Schutt) but I think he is a long shot, if we can somehow get to 23 schollys then I would absolutely add in Wright.
Great report, Bill. This is all everybody is thinking about these days, since Monday, and you always come though with great info and insight. Worth the price of admission!
Interesting that Iffy Odenigbo has dropped from Ohio's #1 Prospect to 7th per 24/7. Ranking a guy who's only played the game for 2 years ahead of every other recruit in Ohio was preposterous, IMHO. Ranked at #7 seems more than fair for such a raw talent. Now he just needs to understand that he can play for tOSU as an undergraduate and go to medical school wherever he'd like. Also needs to think about Mom, Dad and friends being able to see him play. Dayton-to-Columbus is a lot easier drive than Dayton-to-Palo Alto or Dayton-to-Chicago.
Whatever Iffy decides, I sure hope Noah Spence is as interested as he seems. He's a fantastic player at a position of serious need. What an impact he could have -- especially with Washington on the other side!

When in doubt, punt.
Time and change will surely (truly) show, How firm thy friendship...OHIO!
With all of the new names on our wish list why are we still talking about Kalis and Dodson? I realize that the sportswriters do not know any more, and sometimes less than we do, but why are Kalis and Dodson totally missing from the AP all-state teams. We can do better.
I really like the way everything is going so far. Vrabel is a keeper!! I hope the NCAA. doesnt come in and spoil our party
My Oh My U Meyer! Love that there are lots of linemen on the list, and that its obvious Meyer and staff are not going to put all their eggs in the basket of a few 'key' players. They will cast a wide net of top players so the last 6 or so to sign will all be top players, rather than waiting on 6 top guys and getting 2.
I love that Olinemen are 40% of the top 10

I noticed that as well, and I'm glad that some one finally commented on that. OL recruiting was really down during the Tressel/Bollman years except for the Brew Crew which didn't turn out as well as expected.
Davidson and Diamond would help out til next years group!!!
I would say 2-3 OL for sure, and a must. Is it me, or does Spence look like he could step in right now. Kid looks the part
Bill--this list is history already-------- when's the update comming??
