If we could steal Conley from Tsun, that could be huge! The kid is an absolute barn-burner and is having a huge season. The fact that Oregon is wanting him tells all that he has speed. Would be a great pick up and could play both ways (i.e. Chris Gamble), but from what ive heard he really wants to play reciever.
Opening day starters vs today (week 9)
WR: Spencer and Smith and Stoneburner all fine
O line: All five o-linemen good to go and have been for all eight games. (Do many of you grasp how remarkably fortunate this is?!)
QB: Braxton may have been slammed pretty hard but alas, he will be the starting quarterback on Saturday for tOSU so the long term concerns from the violent take down couldn't be THAT bad.
RB: Hall is out but he's one of the guys whose legend grows exponentially the more time he misses. He was ALWAYS somewhere between pretty good and serviceable. Now, Hyde, that's your next level player and he's fine.
TE: Huerman and Vannett both good to go.
D-line: Bennett is just about the only one to sustain a serious injury and he's back and playing. For the love of God, Nate Williams is part of the regular rotation;we couldn't ask for any better health at this physically demanding position.
LB: Sabino obviously hurts but again he was playing well here but it's not like we lost a Hawk, Carpenter, or lil animal caliber of player. Not even close.
Safety: CJ, Christian and OJ all good to go.
CB: Dinged, but who isn't? Roby, Howard and Grant all good to go.
As one can see, the injury excuse is just that...an excuse. Injuries in week 9 of the season is hardly something exclusive to tOSU as every program around the country is playing at least a couple backups or some reshuffling of the deck. We've lost a handful of 18 year old true FR who haven't proven squat and a starting linebacker who has improved from horribly overrated to pretty good. Not seeing the dire situation many are TRYING to paint on the injury front.
