They don't spell it B1G for no reason. The states are contiguous to existing teams so I like it. Maryland has a great basketball history and Rutgers could prosper in football under the Big Ten banner. The question remains who the other two will be.
To my first point, I hate the map hopping some conferences are doing so Louisville, West Virginia or Syracuse would work for me. Of course, if it is a pure tv play then Georgia Tech would make sense, but that just doesn't feel right. With a 16 team conference they won't all be GREAT in football. You have to be realistic. But they should, at least, add to basketball.

I agree that the NCAA would have still added this year to their bowl ban. They seem determined to not let schools determine their own punishments. The best course of action seems to be to sit back and let them do their thing. Self imposed punishment is just going to be added to.
I love this revisionist history.
6 months ago, Meyer was hired and told that a “Bowl Ban” wasn’t expected based on precedent.
When a Bowl Ban was imposed, Meyer described it as a punch in the gut.
Now, the “Administration” says, the NCAA intended to make an example out of Ohio State.
How do you go from “No Precedent” to make an example and give a two year bowl ban?
So Maryland, and Rutgers...hmmmm.. Well I guess on one hand they do "bolster" the football schedule..b/c Indiana, Minn, Illinois have and alwasy will be the jokers of football.. so at least there will be a battle for the middle tier spot!! However it is always going to be TOSU and all the rest.. good luck recruiting against Urbs and whoever replaces him in 5-10 lol As far as hoops.. I think Maryland will be a solid add and Rutgers,, we will find out. Meatchicken week! GO BUCKS!!
