I'm gong to lay out the football schedule for the next 5 years, show me one, just one game Ohio State fans would find acceptable to lose.
This source on tat gate is voicing his guess. He "knows" no more than you or me. If some player from before the JT era knows Gene Smith knew about the violations than he must have proof...emails or something otherwise he is just passing on a rumor from someone who passed on a rumor...If someone that disconnected from the program has proof then lots of people must have proof. If lots have proof 1 will definitely step forward.
If there's one thing I know about human nature it's that we can't keep a secret. If more than a handful of people "know", as in have proof rather than guessing, one of them will become a whistle blower eventually. The whistle blower will get fame and respect from everyone who isn't a Buckeye fan and will make lots of cash off the book deal.
I don't know if Gene knew or not, but this guy doesn't know either.
Secondly, if JT did fall on the sword, then he is a complete scumbag. This would mean JT's story about not telling anyone because there was an ongoing criminal investigation was complete BS...was a lie to the public and all Buckeye fans. This means from the very beginning JT got together with JS and consciously tried to cover up violations so he could play ineligible players. I don't believe that, but I certainly can't prove my view either.
Finally we better hope this isn't true. It would eventually leak out. Somewhere out there would be an email, voicemail, or enough people directly involved in the conversation to blow the whistle. And if it did come out that JS and possible more OSU officials knew, we would get absolutely HAMMERED!!! Probably somewhere harsher than the USC sanctions but not quite as harsh as the PSU penalty.
