OSU Or Louisville To Get Quick(er)

James Quick is a difference maker, period… these kinds of players don’t come around very often and I want to see Quick wearing S&G in the worst way. He has a huge decision to make and he will be successful wherever he ends up.

If he chooses Louisville, will I be disappointed? Sure because I think he would flourish in Coach Meyer's Offense and be a dynamic playmaker for our Buckeyes, that being said, I will not bash him if he chooses to stay close to Home. His parents are Louisville Aum, also, my friend at work is from the Louisville Area, he went to Trinity's Rival School, he says that James Quick is under enormous pressure more than likely to stay Home and go to Louisville. The rationale being that young men of his talent level just don't come around often unlike Ohio for instance who has superior athletes all the time, therefore the pressure for him to stay Home is massive. Yes I want him to be a Buckeye, but I will not bash or belittle him if h chooses Louisville.

I live and coach in the Louisville area and I know firsthand how much local pressure there is on this kid to stay home. If we get him, lets remember how hard this will be on him. If we don't, it has less to do with OSU and more to do with the pressure for him to stay at UL.

Long ago I had written this kid off as a L'ville commit b/c Strong stayed and because all of the local pressure he was under to stay. So if he chooses L'ville, I won't be bothered at all, however, if he chooses OSU I'll be happier than a pig in sh!t.

Exactly....Charlie Strong is an excellent coach that will be moving up. I think maybe he is good enough in fact to be a replacement if something would happen to Saban moving on in the next few years. I have read where Coach Meyer thinks he is an excellent coach. I think the kid wins out with his parents and comes and plays on the big stage and his parents know it coupled with Strong moving on within a few years.
I have read that this kid is the best football player to come out of Kentucky in 10 yrs and there is extreme pressure on him to stay home.
I have used all my up-votes today on the threads that Buckeyes said they would not bash the kid if he doesn't pull the trigger for us. It is true as I have read several of Louisville's sites and many, many have wished him well if he choses OSU. I was very impressed with that and I hope of course we flood this site with "Glad your a Buckeye Mr. Quick", but, if not we show class and not lower ourselves to the standard of many other schools as a fanbase and not be the same hypocrites we complain about and wish this young man the best of luck.
I think he is all Buckeye myself !! Happy New Year everyone !!.....

Anyone who bashes the kid for wanting to stay at home and also please he parents can suck my dirty underwear. Bash someone like Kyle K. who pledged his soul to tOSU only to bad mouth us, this kid did nothing like that and he seems like a nice kid.

With both of his parents Louisville allumni, I don't care what the kid says. I'll believe he is a buckeye when his letter of intent get signed. Parents are the single biggest influence in any choice a young man or woman makes. The parents want him to go to Louisville. The entire state of Kentucky wants him to stay. I cannot even imagine that kind of pressure. The easy route is to give in and go to Louisville. That makes everyone happy around him.
I think we need him more than Louisville. A guy like Quick can help us win a national title. At Louisville......he'll be swallowed in the mediocrity that is their conference. He won't get the national TV exposure that OSU gets. His conference does not have its own network to pimp all those players in multiple states. He won't play with the level of talent he does in the big ten and at Ohio State.

Very well put an IMO Dead-On!.

It won't surprise me either way. I think it's amazing Urban is making it this difficult for Quick with all the Louisville support.
It looks like we take two WRs out of Elder, Gibson, and Quick. I'm a big fan of Elder and would be just as happy with Elder and Gibson as Gibson and Quick.

Love to get him but he will pick UL. The pressure on this kid to stay home is off the chart. In the end he will make his parents and friends happy. Most of us have never been in his shoes and it would be a terrible shame to bash him. It is what it is, and the fact that Urban has come this close is pretty amazing. He is the man!
