Schools make offers that are not commitable, seems fair that recruits make commitments that are no commitments.

Except Meyer let him commit. If a kids wants to take visits then fine, but his spot won't be held if I was the coach. I would let him know, you can take all the visits you want, but if another kid commits and we fill up, you are out. Peace, don't let the door hit ya where the good lord split ya. Jones is not Bell from 2013 or J. Jones, or Blanding of 2014. He is not a kid I hold a spot for indefinitely. He commits or possibly costs himself a spot.

And I go a stop further. Ohio kids, your offers are not going out like they did under coach Tres. You better commit because if you don't Meyer is just as likely to grab and OOS kid who is equal or better then you are if you wait to long.

Why does a kid commit so early and then want to look around is beyond me but I think he stays regardless

Don't really understand these hard-asses who get offended when a kid who clearly is not going to end up anywhere other than Columbus (Jones) wants to enjoy the process and take some visits. This process only happens once in their life, why not enjoy it?

All that matters is who they fax the LOI to on signing day next year. To get on a high school kids case because he wants to have some fun and see some of the top football schools in the country is asinine. If other coaches want to roll out the red carpet, they'd be stupid to not accept a free vacation.

I like the posters that " know" what the recruits are thinking & "know" were they are going to commit! How in the hell do they know? They have never talked to the kid & they somehow know what they haven't decided yet themselves! I enjoy following recruiting, but I gotta tell you...it's all bullshit till they sign. I don't count any of them in till the fax hits the chute!

So if all of these kids from Ohio aren't so sure about where they want to play some of them are going to miss out on something special. I know alot of kids are around the country are sure they want to play in Columbus for Urban!!! Don't cry later when your getting your ass kicked in the Shoe...

They were told they should take all their official visits. Since Jones can't go back to before he committed he has to take them in the future. Most of you are reading too much into this. If it were me, I'd take officials to the best vacation spots in the country, starting with UCLA - all the while knowing I had an OSU scholarship. No-brainer, IMO.
