The fact that Edmonton is picking first for the 3rd straight year shows that the lottery is unjust. I read that CBJ has never improved their position in the lottery. Oh well maybe it will turn out that Edmonton picks the wrong guy....like they did with Hall and Nugent-Hopkins.

I cringe at twitter. We really need to teach people basic statistics. CBJ had the highest of odds individually but they were still less than 50/50 as a whole This team is getting worse and I don't see changes being made so Nash will probably be gone for far less than value.

as a former division 1 hockey player i can honestly tell you that we need to throw everything at edmonton to try and swap that spot. Yakers ( Yakupov ) is an absolutely freak of nature hockey player. He is absolutely the elite pick this year far and away. For those of you who do not follow hockey that closely the fact that he has had a nickname in the OHL for this long should tell you something. You earn nicknames in that league for a reason

No, the Russians in this draft have been playing up in Canada for 2-3 years. Sorry, to answer you question better tho, Yes for players coming from Russia. Every team in the NHL will agree taking Russian players playing in Russia is a risk. The problem is SOOOOOOOOO much talent in the country you almost have the take the risk a lot of times.
