if you like golf it is a great place to live. Also if you like tourists, you will love MB.

I do not live there but have been going on golf trips, vacations with the family and fishing trips to the area for 17 years. You can find great seafood at reasonable prices and some good local watering holes. I like the southern end of the strand for staying but the shrimp boats out of Calabash are the best. They have fresh shrimp every day and as I said before, reasonable prices.

As far as golf goes, they have some really great courses and unbeliveable prices at different time during the year. We own a condo with two other couples and share time there. I am moving to Las Vegas in the near future so we will not be going out there every year as we have done in the past but we are keeping our share of the condo so our families can use it.

Go with surfside! Less crime

Thanks, JWE....I am hearing the same from a lot of people specifically about the Socastee area. I have been peaking at real estate in that area and it looks very reasonable even borderline cheap. I am assuming the area has been hit hard by the recent economic down turn.
