McCallen 12 for scotch. Knob Creek single barrel 9 for Bourbon. You should be able to get both easily. Most other stuff mentioned is hard to get.

Noah's Mill Bourbon. If you find it buy it. Pappy van winkle 20 year- yum. I think it's better than the 23 year.

Had Oban 14yr tonight. Fantastic
Elijah Craig is a staple now in my home. 1792 is wonderful if you haven't had it.
Just finished a Japanese whiskey Yamazaki and it was so smooth I had half a bottle last Saturday.
Will be moving to the Eagle Reserve this coming weekend.

You can't go wrong with Blanton's. Coolest looking bottle on the shelf. Perhaps a bit overrated in taste, but everybody loves a pour from that bottle. I can hardly bring myself to drink mine as I just like seeing that bottle in my bar.
I'd also suggest Templeton Rye. If your buddy likes Rye he will love the Templeton. It comes from Iowa and has the added back story of supposedly being the preferred speakeasy drink of Al Capone.

Bulleit, Woodford, Makers 46 and Makers are all my regular bourbons. Wasn't a huge fan until I moved to Cincinnati a couple years back and now that's basically all I drink.

Oban 14yr old Scotch is delightful. I had a chance to visit the distillery this past summer. It is literally a stone's throw from the sea on the Western coast of Scotland. The sleepy little town of Oban also has some terrific seafood.
