I dream of a day when chickens can cross the road without having their motives questioned.
We have about 35 people here for dinner. We will have side dishes like mashed potatoes, stuffing, yams, corn, a fruit basket, green beans, deviled eggs and cheesy potatoe casserole.
Meats will be 1 ham, 1 turkey and 1 pheasant roast.
Deserts are pies. 1 of each Cherry, Peach, Southern Pecan, Razzleberry, Apple, Chocolate silk, Coconut creme, Turtle and 2 pumpkin.
I am blessed to work for a major food company and these are from brands owned by the company. We get a big discount.
I will actually be donating about 30 pies to the church for people who can't afford a meal.
I recommend to anyone to try our pies they are very very good. Brand: Marie Calender.
I hope everyone has a blessed thanksgiving and get to share it with your loved ones!

BIG Champs 2013 [Buckeyes]
Smoked turkey, pecan pie and chocolate raspberry cheesecake. I meet up with aunts and cousins about 50 total. Everyone brings at least one dish to pass. We have two 8' tables completely loaded with food.
Me and the wife have to go to both sets of parents since her mother refuses to do anything that involves my family. So we will go my in-laws at lunch and have turkey cooked in a bag, instant mashed potatoes and some rolls. Then we are going to my parents where my dad is making 3 turkeys baked, smoked and fried, noodles, two kinds of sweet potatoes, green beans, two kinds of stuffing, and gravy for the mashed potatoes my aunt is bringing.
all this while i am on a 1800 calorie diet......
Turkey with sausage dressing, fruit salad, mashed potatoes, pumpkin pie. Will be eating around 4:00PM. My wife works at Kohl's part time and has to be there Thursday night at 11:30PM. They open at midnight! It's ridiculous. It's now Black Thursday!!!!!
Pretty basic really, Turkey, dressing, green bean casserole, mashed and sweet potatoes, and of course pumpkin pie with whipped cream. If I get really ambitious I might make some gravy and bake a mincemeat pie!
I will always make up a pan or two of scalloped oysters. Damn, those are good.
Out here in Las Vegas, we are going to do a traditional Italian dinner---Home made Gnocchi, Meatballs, wedding soup, Sausage peppers and onions, greens and beans cooked in olive oil and garlic, and as a kicker for those who have to have turkey and dressing, I will roast a few small capon's stuffed. We are also going to have home made pie as a desert. That is Thursdays dinner--then on Saturday for THE GAME we are having roasted sausage pepper and onions. The bread comes from NJ frozen and I thaw, heat on the Grill when someone wants a sandwich. There will be 10 for dinner on Thursday and about 18 for the game.
The biggest problem is I am going to have to open the first bottle of wine when I start cooking each day. Thursday will not be bad about 11 am with dinner served at 5 but Saturday, I will have to start cooking at 6AM---game is 9AM out here. Going to be a long day.
