  • I would take the NT/DT from Utah...

Whoever wins the LOS in the NFL wins the football game. Rubin, Taylor, Sheard and this guy from Utah and they are on their way to dominating the LOS. He reminds me a lot of Ngata from the Ravens.

    But it's still early.

I agree DL is massively important for success, in the NFL and CFB. As for the Browns, DT is actually a pretty strong group. Winn looks great, Hughes has been decent, Rubin is the best when healthy, and Taylor came on pretty well 2nd half of last year. If we took a DL I would go in more direction of DE to put opposite Sheard. That would be nasty.

Of course, new staff will probably change the whole D, run a 3-4 and we will have to jettison personell and start over...AGAIN. which is another reason we suck.

  • Anywhere on D except DT. If it is the #1 pick you have to trade down. Because they should not take a QB. Besides age there is not a better QB skill set wise in this draft than Weeden. Look at the throws he has made the last couple weeks. If he had a veteran receiver or two that could be trusted in crunch time they have more than one win. He had to make two crunch time throws sunday and both had to go to rookies and they didn't make the plays. That is why I don't want a WR with the 1st rounder. They need a veteran. Gordon is going to be the young stud.
And there is not a DE worthy of #1, and LB's and safeties are not worthy of #1 pick unless they are an elite pass rusher at LB. So really, trading down is the best option or they will be reaching on someone at #1 or forced to take a DT when they don't need one.
They need a TE too. Watson is getting long in the tooth and Cameron is still an unknown project. But there is no Aaron Hernandez elite TE right now in this draft.

  • people might say WR, which is true, but I think they need LB help and help in the secondary. I would take the absolute best available between LB and DB. Although, I would not be surprised if they trade down and get a ton of picks since they do not have a 2nd rounder this year.

Looks like Little, Gordon, and Cooper are getting better. I would go D for sure

  • Hopefully the Rams figure out by April that Bradford isn't the answer so they trade both their #1's (the only team that has 2 in 2013) plus a #2 for the Browns pick.

    take two from:

    Jarvis Jones
    Mingo
    Te'o
    Milliner
    Eric Reid
    Bejorn Werner
    Barrett Jones

  • I would guess they would trade down and get multiple picks...teams will overpay for a player they covet...especially a QB. Cleveland messed up not trading forRGIII. That's one of the main reasons Holmgren is done. I would try and get a WR,LB and CB. I think if they could get a LB, Jones or Teo, and a receiver later like Woods or Hunter that would be the best case scenario.

  • I would spend money to protect my largest investments. OL is dreadful, and with no bonafide # 1 receiver, i would shore up my OL.

Reciever next and spend the rest of my picks on d starting with lb.

Holmgren did try and get Griffin. It's been reported the offer was as good as the Rams offer but Holmgren claimed he lost out because Jeff Fisher and Mike Shanahan are close friends. Whether or not you believe doesn't matter cause the Browns would have basically given up Richardson, Weeden, and Schwartz to get Griffin. Can anyone say with certainty, right now, that it would have been worth it?

    Holmgren is FOS

He refused to give up the third 1 and then once he heard the Skins had a deal, he called and said he'd give up the extra 1.

  • What we need to do is trade down n take Terrance williams out of Baylor who is 6'3 205 n runs a 4.4 40 n has soft hands n can run good crisp routes n go up n get it out of the air nknows how to get seperation. Then in the 2 take Matt Elam out of Florida or Micah Hyde from Iowa, then in the 3 take John Boyett from Oregon if he is there.Just sayin

  • I am all for trading down to get extra picks, but only if two scenarios exists. One is if the player that you covet can be acquired at the pick to where you trade down and, most importantly, if you make good picks with those extra picks. Too often Cleveland will trade down to acquire add'l picks only to waste them with players that are busts.

Like I said, whatever you want to believe it still doesn't take away the fact that Richardson, Weeden, and Schwartz...and then 2013's #1 would be gone for Griffin if they got the trade. Not sure if I would do such a trade to get one guy.

  • anyone heard anything on Phil Taylor? He is a monster and will help out the D as soon as he returns.

No being a dick, but how is the OL dreadful? There are two pro bowlers on it and arguably the best LT in football. And they just drafted a RT who has been playing great. The guards are just average, but they just drafted one of those last year also and you don't take guards in the first round. Since the first game, Weeden has been kept relatively upright. And if the running game is the basis for your opinion, teams are throwing 8 in the box and daring the browns to throw. In the NFL you can't run against 8 man fronts regardless of who your OL is.
OL and DT are the two positions farthest down their list as far as needs go. They need another RB more than another OL.

I agree with ya McBrutus. Yeah it is too early to say...Weeden may work out so that's why I think a trade down is the best option. I know it would have taken a lot of picks to get Griffin. I guess I would hope that if Griffin was in Cleveland then free agents would want to come to Cleveland, it has been a long time since the Browns were an attractive destination. You can never overpay for a franchise QB. Wouldn't it be nice if in all those damn commercials RGIII was wearing a Browns uniform.

  • Keep your eye on a guy named Damontre Moore from Texas A&M. He's a junior who has 62 tackles and 9.5 sacks so far this year. I remember watching the LSU game and I just kept hearing his name over and over. Turns out Kiper just moved him up to 5 on his big board. He's 6'5 250lbs and would be a perfect compliment to Sheard. There's no doubt if they have the number one pick, they have to trade. I hope they would stay in the top 5 though and get a guy like Moore, Te'o, or Jones. Can't go wrong with one of those guys.

Sorry, but if Joe Thomas makes it to the pro bowl that would be a travesty. He is having a terrible year, boarderline embarrassing. Gaurds are awful and it remains to be seen at rt.

While i agree that a wr, pass rusher,lb and cb are all great needs, who would u take with a top 3 pick? There is not a wideout or lb worthy of the pick location. I would go either ol or dl unless there is an amazing cb available. I would go best available player on the board and that more then likely will be oline or dline. Just my 2 cents.
