Officiating

  • I rarely complain about the refs. It's a tough job and its to be expected to miss a few. But come on, my goodness. They couldn't keep the whistle out of their mouths for two seconds. The number of "fouls" where the player wasn't even touched was significant. Craft didn't even touch the guy on the foul he fouled out. There was the foul in the first half where the Syracuse player went to dunk and got rejected by the rim. No OSU player even touched him. Unreal.

  • I actually didn't mind the officiating. For once, no one was allowed to wrestle and grab Sully underneath. Yes, the ticky tacky calls sucked, but i would rather a game be called this way than what we saw in the B1G Tournament.

    I disagree. The way the game was called against UC is how to call a game.

    This game had over a foul per minute and there was no flow.

    At least 10 of the fouls were no fouls at all.

    I have never seen a game in regulation go 2.5 hours.

We had elite 8 game between two monster teams and the refs made it about them and had both teams with their best players on the bench for half the first half. The UC game was a well called game... This was atrocious.

    Spot on. This was the WORST tourney game I have seen in a LONG time. Very poor officiating. And buckalum mentioned the perfect example, the phantom wistle where they had to restart the game when the ref was "anticipating" a foul, sums up how crappy a job these refs were doing. I DVR'd lots of plays, and on way too many there was no contact at all, not even close. And cweese pointed out the perfect example........ watch the UC game and then watch this one. The UC game seemed to be perfectly managed by the refs. This game was the polar opposite. Horrible job.....

    Worst I've ever seen. Period. So many phantom calls that significantly impacted the outcome of the game. They should be embarrassed when they go back and review the tape.
