So I'll say it....classless move. If Urban truly didnt screw with his scholarship and was the first one to offer so long ago, then it's a bitch move to do that in the 11th hour. I get kids changing their minds, but there's a right and wrong way to change your mind.

And what would be the right way? IMO he did it the right way by personally call Meyer.

Why do this? No where is this indicated. As a matter of fact it's been stated over and over again by ALL involved this is not even a consideration. The only thing comments like this does is to call into question the integrity of our coaching staff.

  • still think the kid is an idiot, immature, and bush.

The time for the prayers, soul searching, etc. was over. You don't leave a coach/coaching staff hanging on the last day like that.

None of his excuses are valid, in my opinion. I'd feel that way about any kid doing this to a school. Regardless if it is OSU or not.

Very immature character. Honestly, based on the way he handled this, we are better off without him. He's not championship material.

Again, I don't have a problem with a kid flipping. But you owe the coaching staff an advance warning so they can develop a contingency plan.

  • Some of the comments on here make me embarrassed to be a buckeye fan. A lot of you sound like a bunch of whiny little bitches who are crying bc u didn't get ur way.

Am I disappointed that we missed out on a recruit? Sure, but I'm not going to attack a kid for wanting to stay close to home.

How is some of what you guys are saying not classless? I can't imagine some of the garbage that would've been spewed has Eze decided to stay close to home. These kids are making decisions that are going to impact some of the most important years of THEIR lives - some of u need to put that into perspective.

  • Changing your mind is one thing, doing it when it is too late for the college to get someone else is another. Not deciding until the last minute is different than reserving a spot to cover for yourself at the expense of someone else, and to the detriment of a school which committed to you. Changes in a coaching staff make a difference as well.

Any college withdrawing an offer trumps the above.

Prison, misery....those are ridiculous words for a kid who's choice it was to stay commited to a school for 6 months. I don't buy that he would have been miserable here. It was his choice to begin with.

And thank God EZE and Vonn Bell are stupid enough to not follow their heart, since that's apparently the smart decision.

Okay genius, so apparently you've never changed your mind or had a change of heart about anything ever, amirite? Let's say someone is engaged to be married and then on the day of the wedding it finally dons on him that he just isn't ready for it and his heart isn't in it. Should he simply go ahead and go through with it anyway and string along the poor girl he was engaged to for a couple years before their inevitable divorce just for the sake of appeasing her and her loved ones? I think that would be a pretty stupid decision.
Someone made an excellent point earlier. This is a kid deciding what's best for him and his family. What a bunch of strangers hundreds of miles away think should not weigh in on his decision AT ALL. If people want to get pissy about it and attack him personally because he's not playing for their favorite sports team, that's their business but frankly I think it's stupid. Again, I'm frustrated over the situation of uncertainty he put us in, but I'm not going to act like he's a classless fool because he made a decision he thought was in his best interest. And for all we know, he was dead set on going to Ohio State for the entirety of the last 6 months and then when he saw his LOI, it finally dawned on him what exactly was going on and changed his mind. Who knows? Regardless, it's his life. His choice. He shouldn't have to regret that for anybody.

  • An offer from Florida and Bama came two days before signing day. It's not like he was sitting on these offers for 6 weeks. We don't know his initial thoughts when they came in. I would think he would want to discuss the options with his family first before calling up Meyer and saying he may switch.
Questioning his character and toughness is just sad. The kid is an eagle scout . From what I understand, that is a pretty prestigious thing earned through boy scouts.

No, I've never had a last minute change of heart on big life decisions. I can say that honestly. Not even when I was 18. My parents taught me to put myself in other people's shoes, and to be open and honest.

It's evident that he always wanted to go to Florida, so perhaps he should have made that clear to Urban along the way. Urban tells kids they are #2 on his list (see the QB in Kentucky). That way Urban could have a backup plan.

If a kid is dead set on going somewhere for 6 months, gets a phone call and immediately changes his mind without giving it some time and thought, then the way he was taught to make decisions was wrong.

And I didn't say the kid is a classless fool, I said it was a classless move. One decision doesn't define the person, I'm just calling it how I see it.
