Love the run these guys put together - they played great team ball to get to F4.
The issues I (and many of you) harped on throughout the season all bit us tonight, which was inevitable...
- Sully issues vs. big men
- Craft having tough time getting ball off in paint
- Buford struggling (he hurt us in little ways tonight that mattered big... struggled with mental/physical weakness that led to turnovers)
- Rebounding (they out rebounded us significantly)
- Defense prone to breakdown against decent guards
This Kansas team was not a great one, and if we can't beat them we probably reached our capacity - for that I'm thankful and say hats off to Thad and the boys.
Not to mention the horrid shooting in the second half. As usual, one guy is on, but two others are ice cold. Throw in some poor shot selection and the very stagnant offense, and it was surprising we actually hung with them in the 2nd half.
I agree with outwest. I tip my hat to the team and think they gave us a phenomenal run. Considering that both big men are playing out of position-Sully is a natural 4 playing the 5 and Thomas is a 3 playing the 4-and our lack of a solid outside shooter(s) I think this team played very, very well as normally a team with those issues would be a 4 or 5 seed and get bounced in the sweet 16. I would have loved to see this team with a true center on the floor with sully
