PENN STATE (LIERS)

  • I would not be surprised one bit to see the death penalty put down on this for there indecency to come out a lie about everything. they may have just put the school and football team in a dark dark hole that may never see light in this decade.

    We will see there top recruits leave and go to other schools once this is final.

    5* Dorian Johnson will be a great present along with 4* Gregg Webb and 4* Adam Breneman

  • Look, I know there is a lot of hatred towards PSU on this site and they were quick to climb on the podium and bash OSU for TatGate. That said, until there is "proof" that the football program received illegal benefits tied to this scandal, the NCAA has nothing to base their "death penalty" on. At this point, it looks like they were protecting everything PSU, not just Football. This imo was about protecting PSU reputation as a Public University. This was far more than a football topic or covered up to protect PSU football. I know a lot of people will disagree with me on this one, but I will be shocked if this leaves the legal process and the NCAA hands down anything to the Football program. To do that, you would need to punish every single sports program at PSU that was being protected by this scandal not getting out and tarnishing the PSU reputation. Joe Pa was far more than a football coach at PSU. Just my 2 cents.

  • "Some" of the PSU fans are still delusional about what is happening as we speak. I am watching the press conference right now and Louis Freeh keeps stating that "there are so many red flags that he can't even begin to list them."
    This is worse than they thought. It has to be... Freeh is not holding his opinion back either.

    And this is about the football program because these people were placed in positions to oversee the football program and everyone inside of it.

  • Gotta agree with buckalum here. Not sure ANY of this falls under NCAA jurisdiction. Failing a drug test or stealing a car are not NCAA violations, are they? That's what makes it such a joke. Can't sell personal jewelry, but can commit crimes punishable by law.

    [Updated at 10:44 a.m. ET] The NCAA has reacted to the report, saying Penn State "now needs to respond" to four key questions that will help the NCAA decide whether it needs to take action:

    “Like everyone else, we are reviewing the final report for the first time today," NCAA Vice President Bob Williams said. "As (NCAA) President Emmert wrote in his November 17 letter to Penn State President Rodney Erickson and reiterated this week, the university has four key questions, concerning compliance with institutional control and ethics policies, to which it now needs to respond. Penn State’s response to the letter will inform our next steps, including whether or not to take further action. We expect Penn State’s continued cooperation in our examination of these issues.”

    The NCAA's ability to punish is not limited to circumstances where there is "proof that the football program received illegal benefits."

    And covering up child molestation for 12 years in order to protect the reputation of the school and football program is not only a pretty big "benefit," it's also a likely violation of federal law known as the Clery Act.

    Wow, you really need to read the report. Let's not kid ourselves and pretend that the PSU Track & Field team was protected by this. It was for the football team. The comments about Paterno are damning for the football team and potential NCAA allegations.

    If the punishment for those crimes kept the athletes eligible and available to play in games when they shouldn't have been then it ABSOLUTELY is an NCAA violation. I don't understand how people can't see this when we just lived through a much much milder version of this. It wasn't the crime of selling trinkets for tats, it was that we kept them eligible when they shouldn't have been and weren't forthcoming that got us in trouble. Multiply this by orders of magnitidue and you have the PSU situation.

    Agreed. Paterno, the Head Football Coach, was one of the 4 men in the circle of power. Everything they did was to protect the image of the football program.
