I just hope it's not an automatic ejection for a 15-yard penalty. Sometimes it happens accidentally. I don't have a problem with the officials having the power to eject someone for a blatant helmet-to-helmet hit, but those are very rare.

In the video below, I'd have no problem with the defender being ejected. I just think that these don't happen very often.

Better start liking NBA, soccer and the UFC because football will be boxing soon. Sad

I don't have much confidence that this will be passed and implemented into the rules anytime soon. I don't know who votes on these things, but I believe the coaches, or for sure the AD's have a voice in it and I don't see it happening. Many times, when there is a helmet-to-helmet collision, it is the Offensive players fault when they lower their helmet to meet the hit of the defender.

Having said that, if a defender blatantly goes UP to hit a guy and the contact isn't a result of the offensive player lowering his head at the last second, perhaps it's a different thing.

There would have to be conclusive evidence that it was intentional. These would be quite rare. Don't see it happening.

don't like it at all. gives refs even more power to impact games and unfairly interpret the rules against one team.

It also makes their job (which is already hard) even harder. they will be playing touch football in 20 years. mark your cals. Too many hungry mouths that want fed ($$$). The game is going to change because of all the lawsuits.

Go back to wearing leather helmets and no face masks (as spiels has said). that'll stop the helmet to helmet contact.
