I think OSU is about to have a record low # of entries in the alumni lottery this year.
I know that for me, the only reason I would pay the $75 alumni assoc. dues is to get access to tickets through the lottery. However, I have never received tickets to a B1G game. Next year's OOC schedule consists of Buffalo, SDSU, and FAMU. None of those are worth the actual cost for a pair of tickets through the alumni lottery to me:
75 alumni dues + 2(79) tickets + 2(5) ticketmaster fee = 243 for a paii (121.50 apiece)
BTW, remember when the scheduling of SDSU was justified as a lower tier BCS school? It was pretty laughable then, but even funnier now that they have chosen to remain in the MWC
I hear people saying (not here, my workplace) that OSU "has to pay that crazy salary for the coaching staff" and that is why the ticket price increase is happening now.
I quickly pointed out to them some simple math:
$175 x 106,000 people = $18,550,000 That's EIGHTEEN million in ticket sales alone for a single game. Crazy...
(and yes, I realize not all 106,000 pay... I am just proving a point that the coaching staff salary is NOTHING with the revenue the football team brings in)

You want top notch assistants and facilities that attract top recruits!? The money has to come from somewhere. I you don't buy the tickets someone else will
