I'm pretty sure the turrible games they give me as Alumni tickets will be the lower priced ones....
Just glad i bought those 40 yardline seats for The OSU Natty back in '02.....crossed that off the "Bucket List".....now a Rose Bowl and parade......the rest i can view from home.....i should have went back when we played ASU.....was foolish to turn it down......still waiting for a Big game

I've been a season ticket holder and buckeye club member for 8 years. This increase was the final straw for not renewing this year. I love the Buckeyes but am so sick and tired of the greed and corporate feel the shoe now has. $4 for a water, a terrible sound system, and the constant relentless advertising from the PA announcer. All of this coupled with a terrible schedule and its a no brainer. I can now play golf before the game and watch it with my friends that wised up years ago! A side bonus is that now my wife will be off my arse about it!!! I should actually be thanking them!!
If one is making six figures plus annually, what is an extra $70-$100 for a few games a year? My guess is that most people in the Shoe any given football Saturday dont fit that bill. Great if you have the means to pay, but to rail against people because they'd rather spend their hard-earned, limited ducats on other things is not only callous, it's asinine.
Maybe they'll still sell out games, however I imagine the Shoe will be a whole lot quieter than it already is as the beer and pizza crowd is priced out by the wine and cheese variety. In addition, they will likely lose current and future fans - think all the little boys from middle-class families who will miss the opportunity to fall in love with the Buckeyes watching them against a big time opponent for 3+ hours in the Shoe on a glorious Saturday afternoon. If they go through with the substantial price increase, they'll likely see gate revenues increase, but don't be surprised if the increase is offset by the decrease in licensing revenue from sale of jerseys, shirts, etc. Unfortunately, once they realize they erred, the damage will already have been done. The price of fandom, even the fanatical kind, has its limits.
