Max, You seem to have a surfeit of that rarest of commodities, "common sense". I applaud your proactive thinking on the part of the B1G. You do need to take your skills to a bigger stage, ie Capitol Hill. Spread some common sense around there, PLEASE, especially the part about about "Keep it simple, STUPID!! (end of rant)

Another Bax rant, wrong on all levels. Mr. Delany and the Big Ten Presidents will decide on what's most important, which will be maximizing revenue and minimizing expenses They are privy to MUCH more information about the impact of realignment than we outsiders are. Accordingly, we can rant and grumble but the decision makers will do what they think is best. I fully expect them to retain the current Division names, which are a whole lot more classy than East/West or some such nondescript term.
