I'm pretty sure it has something to do with talen evaluation too. Both Saban and Meyer think highly of each other's ability to evaluate talent.

I would guess that talent evaluation is one of the more time-consuming aspects of the job. So it makes sense for Saban to rely on Meyer's talent evaluation with Ohio prospects.

Some of it might be less about trying to play mind games with Meyer than it is about relying on Meyer's player evaluations. Nonetheless, you know there is an element of competition going on here.
