This its bullshit. This its not what we pay for. It's one thing for the site to suck. It is another to be ignored. Maybe we should all be refunded for the down time.
Of course while I'm typing away Duane answers the questions. So, nevermind....... I retract my earlier statement.

I'm just a country boy, but there's got to be software problems involved.
I've never heard of a decent IT shop (let alone an online business) that did not back up their servers nightly or more often. Hell, any online business ought to be running multiple hot mirrors of their site. If it was simply a server hardware issue, they'd turn off the bad server and let a mirror take over...and viola all is right with the world. Worst case, we'd lose a couple minutes input due to a manual swap to make the mirror live.
Therefore, I suspect a software problem confounding the quick fix.
