    That stuff was going to get TP suspended 5 games. TP needed to be suspended the whole season to go the NFL.

    So he went to the NCAA (through his lawyer) and told them that Bobby DiGeranimo overpaid him a little at his summer job, so he deserved to be suspended the whole season. That right there cost us a bowl this year and cost us our share of the bowl payout. Cost the B1G a million or two as well since we can't fill all of our bowl obligations.

    Fuck Terrelle Pryor.

    By the way, no one forced Tressell to not report it at first.

    The entire fiasco would have been but a speed bump if JT had reported it when he first found out, or even when questioned later. He allowed the NCAA to make a mountain out of a mole hill - something they are very good at. Everyone involved broke rules, not just TP.

    The topic was Pryor, so everyone defended him by comparing him to others who were guilty. Had you attacked Adams, Herron, Tressel, etc. everyone would have defended them as well. The entire set of offenses came nowhere near what other schools (save PSU) did during the same period of time, but OSU was punished more. No matter what OSU self-imposed, the NCAA was going to add on. They always have to impose something over and above in order to justify their existence. It would have been better if Smith had told them to go ahead and punish us. Then they would have started from scratch. As it was, they added on to what we gave ourselves. Did any other school (except PSU) self-impose anywhere near what OSU did?
    IMO, had Andy Geiger deferred to the NCAA in the case of Mo Clarrett, they would have given him a 6-game suspension and moved on. And Mo would be playing in the league as we speak. OSU always goes overboard to try and prove they are sorry. Everyone else does as little as possible and waits for the NCAA to act. That's why they receive less punishment for greater offenses.

  • I still root for Tressel and his cover-up was actually what brought the sanctions. If he reported then Pryor and the others would have been punished - not the entire program. THis admirable quality is also his biggest weakness - sticking up for his players even when it crosses the line on the rules. You can't pin this all on Pryor or all on Tressel. It was a group fail.

    If you also hate Tressel then at least you are consistent but I don't suspect that is the case.

    Once a buckeye, always a buckeye.

Maybe you could get your heads out of his jock long enough to remember that he brought down our entire program, got a GREAT man in Jim Tressel fired and RUINED him in the sport he dedicated his entire life to and then sold out his teammates the first chance he got to get himself into the draft! He will NEVER be a Buckeye to me (not that he cares about "The University of Ohio State" one bit!) and the only good thing about probation... The piece of rat filth is wiped from the books forever!!

    I hope a former Buckeye like AJ Hawk, hits him so hard he breaks him in half and then stands over what's left and say's, "That's for coach Tressel, bitch! Go Bucks!"

  • TP is at fault to an extent (as is every player involved) but tress is the one to blame for the extremity of what happened. I am not trying to bash Tress I will always think he was better than that situation but we were punished for the cover up more than the situation. Hate TP all you want but your reasoning is a bit off since our problems had more to do with the cover up.

He has somewhat of a point, but he presents himself as a dickhead, so it makes you only want to disagree with him more. I'm extremely happy where the Buckeyes are right now. Best coach in the country, and poised to be a national power for years to come. While you are still upset about what a 20 year old kid did with his own property a couple years ago. I feel sorry for you. You're the Buckeye fan that talks to opposing fans around me and I feel embarrassed because you are "that guy" that gives fans a bad name.
