Somebody should tell ESPN

  • That NCAAF is made up of more then just the S.E.C. I was just watching sports center and they had an entire 30 min segment about how the S.E.C has dominated the draft.

Sorry, Just seems to amaze me. They cant mention OSU without saying something horrible about JT and the "tattoo scandal". But for get to mention the Cam Newton or Bobby Petrino or the LSU recruiting scandal. F*** ESPN

    Sorry for the rant. haha

    Go Bucks!!!!

  • Not gonna happen. ESPN and the SEC are married to each other. They are now financially tied. Whats good for the SEC is good for ESPN and vice versa. Any attempts to straighten ESPN would fall on deaf ears. A strong SEC brand is what they want. The rest of college football be damned.

  • They do have a point. The SEC did dominate the draft, especially Alabama.

Yep, ESPN and the SEC are together, even in a TV deal.
The SEC pretty much did dominate the draft, hard to dispute.

the point is Sports journalism and covering should be without bias. the S.E.C is a great conference and should be given the respect, but they act like there arent any other conferences in college football.

We've had this debate before. Are ESPN personalities sports "journalists"? Is ESPN predominantly a "news" organization?

I believe the conclusion is that ESPN is sports entertainment. Hence the acronym Entertainment SPorts Network.

With six straight national titles and dominating the bowls most years, kind of hard to argue.
Wait until Alabama spanks Michigan in prime time in September, Alabama hype out the whazzoo and Big Ten down grades.

indeed i think they have to cover it on t.v for obvious reasons. Even when they write articles on the website you can just tell their almost disgusted that they have to write a story about anything other than the sec. Any tOSU article EPSN puts out has a 4 paragraph reference to the JT scandal. We get it!!!! it happened you dont have to mention it in an article about OSUs spring game. How is that relevant still?? its not but ESPN still likes to just rub our noses in it regardless of whos writing the article. Its like they use it as a template "okay, if i run out of things to write about i know i can throw in the "scandal" for a solid body".

im not debating that at all. I agree that the sec has amazing athletes im just saying that its ridiculous how they present it. Like the S.E.C is the child they are proud of and the rest of college football are the ugly ducklings "we feel sorry that you exist so heres an OSU v Indiana game on prime time to make it okay"

Trust me, I hate all of the SEC talk as well. The only way to stop hearing about it is to beat them head to head. Plus ESPN is known for talking about the same stories over and over and over again. They talk about the SEC, Lebron (HEAT), and Tebow. I don't watch much ESPN at all anymore.

  • SEC should get kudos for dominating the draft because they did. What is funny is that they hire alot of OSU guys to work for them. I think it has to do with noone from the SEC being able to articulate an actual thought. But they sure can play football!

  • I purposely watch the nfl network instead of E!Spin for the draft. It's the same for thier baseball coverage. It's all Yankees Red Sox. You'll hardly ever Hear a peep about the reds.

Best way to make it change is to beat them on the field and on the draft board. Until that happens, we're stuck with this.

Not gonna have because we are concerned about doing things "the right way" all the time.
