Good points, I like this line of reasoning.

Luke Fickell is still the HC and he is doing a pretty good job despite assuming the job under the worst possible circumstances. Succeeding a legend who was beloved. Playing the first 5 games without at least 3 key players. 10 games without the only experienced WR. The entire season without the only QB who took any meaningful snaps for 2.5 years. An NCAA investigation, for which he was not responsible, hanging over his program. Yet he still has the team 4-3 and essentially controlling their own destiny as far as winning the Big Ten Title.
At any other school Fickell would be a hero. At OSU, we hear guys like Spielman speaking as though they have inside knowledge that Meyer should be the next HC, but we may have to compete for his services. It is absolutely despicable that any true Buckeye would treat another Buckeye in that fashion. Our support should go to Fickell the entire year. He is playing many Frosh and Sophs so that we have a great future, rather than thinking of his own future. What game is Spielman playing and whose future is he concerned with?
I am sure that Meyer would be a great Coach if he gets the job at OSU. So would Lovie Smith or Tim Beckman or Mel Tucker. But we have the makings of a great Coach in Fickell. We have to wait to see how the rest of this year turns out, but so far not bad under horrible circumstances. If he at least contends for the Leader's Title and better yet wins it we ought to give him a chance to be the HC next year with a Staff of his choosing.
